Default Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas Machine

    Hello all,

So I am brand new to this site and new to pachislo machines (although I have three already ). The first one I bought has a welcome to fabulous Las Vegas theme and from what I have seen on a couple of other posts this is machine has been customized with this theme and not the original theme. I was wondering if anyone could help me determine the actual model and manufacturer from the attached pictures? Also, off topic, the machine has a fairly loud buzzing noise coming from the speakers and my other two machines are very quiet. One thing I did notice is that it seems like the power supply has been changed on this one as it has a three-prong ground plug where my other two machines do not. I have also attached a picture of the power supply in case it is somehow incorrect and the source of this noise. Thanks in advance for any help with this!

    Dave

The "whine noise" is common for Sammy, Rodeo and Aristocrat machines. Here is link to info on it, in the Resource Center. http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/loca...=6&linkid=1563

Is the LCD screen still in the machine? It should be in the glass above the reels. They covered it with the LasVegas sticker.

Playing the machine without seeing what's happening on the screen, wouldn't be much fun. The sounds and music the machine makes, corresponds with what is playing out on the LCD screen.
What if...the HOKEY POKEY, is what it's all about?

Thanks for the link. I don't see the LCD screen but there is a black plastic cover over that part of the machine inside the door.

    Here's that post:

    Sammy whine
Sammy - Savanna Park, and it had a whine. You can put a capacitor across the speakers. This works on the same principal as a cross over on a speaker. Ie a Tweeter has a capacitor on it to filter out all of the lows, and a sub has the same (usaully adjustable) to filter out all of the highs.

Here is a good article http://www.passivecrossovers.com/index.htm

If you scroll down through the article there are a couple of charts that show what compoents to buy... basically to get rid of the sammy squeal you want to build a low pass filter (passing only the lows).

The article reads.....For the 130-Hz low-pass filter, check the intersection of the 130-Hz and 4-ohm columns in Table 2. As you can see, you'll need a 200 pF capacitor for C2 and a 6.8 mH inductor for L2. .......

    So much for the theory.....
Basically if you put a 200pf capacitor across the speaker wires the whine goes away.
You will need to do that for each of your speakers.

    http://www.web-tronics.com/21cb200.html

Make sure, if you do this...use NON-POLARIZED capacitors or you will damage your speakers. NON-POLARIZED capacitors will NOT have a positive or negative side. They usually have one lead coming from each end.
The LCD should be behind the circuit board at the top of the door. Looks to be held in with 4 screws (2 on each side). Pop it off and see if it's there.

compirate thanks for the information and I will check again for the LCD screen. just curious, is the link to the 200pF capacitor a non-polarized version? also, assuming I would just cut one of the speaker wires on each speaker and put the capacitor there? sorry, I am not very technical when it comes to electrical stuff. Thanks again for your help!
