It's mostly melted away now, but it did make the garden look very pretty for a day

I always enjoy the first couple snow falls that coat everything. The gardens and trees look renewed with a fresh look. Especially here after most of the trees are bare and the gardens have been tilled after a harvest. Our lake effect snow machine is set to crank for this week so today is the last sunny day for a while.

Well if you haven't ordered it yet They are SOLD OUT already but on the secondary market (Ebay) you could get one .

As soon as they came up for sale I got one and it is cool.

I did get one and think I will keep it here at my place for the little ones to play with. It is an awesome set!

It snowed every day this week giving us around eight inches of new snow but it was already melting by midday. Not as pretty looking after the plow service had moved it around.

We have a Christmas lighting coming up this week so I will try to get some pictures to share.

We have a Christmas lighting contest here at our small apartment complex and I was able to get some pics tonight. Nothing big and dramatic but folk are in the spirit of the season
After a couple day in the 40*'s most of our snow has been reduced to muck which is to bad but it will be replaced this weekend

well it is...
you must remember that most of the year we are well over 60F... so when it drops to this low it is a shock to the system...

The ambient temperature in Truckee, CA earlier this year. It'd be nice to think I could stay inside the warm truck but unfortunately my work involves standing underneath operating helicopters. I'm not sure what the wind chill factor is while standing under a 37' diameter fan that is holding 7,000 pounds in the air.

Truckee has the coldest average temperature for any city in CA.

I always tried to avoid up there this time of year.
