Thunder V2 only 6 months old ? Could it be ?

Just noticed the Thunder V2 I got Saturday has a date inside of 13.12.2004, it couldn't be under 6 months old surely ? (it's a round stamp mark about 1/2" {13mm} diameter saying this on a label) Must have taken nearly 8 weeks to ship on a Boat too, why would they scrap it after 16 weeks in that case ? (it works OK ) It does look as new but they all do that I have found so far. Would this perhaps be the scrapping date ?

I seriously doubt it's the manufacture date as this machine should be much older than this. It could be a scrapping date. It could also be a date someone inspected it for one reason or another.
