Default New Vanguard Daiichi Machine restore

    Hello,
I am new and just came into possession of a Daiichi New Vanguard machine. I haven't seen any photos quite like this unit but It seems to be in good condition despite it not working at the moment. Before I get into the mechanics of the machine I was wondering how hard it would be to find a replacement part for the green basket in the bottom left. Thanks!

Hello MOXI, nice machine and welcome to the group

Hopefully someone will be along that has a parts machine to help you out with that missing part on the lower front.

    to Pachitalk!

First off that is a very nice and clean 1972 Daiichi you found there.

I feel like I had a Daiichi machine that I started parting out recently (think it was a 74 or 75). I don't believe it has the same neon green pockets but I could potentially see about finding a different matching pair that would fit.

    Hello,

I actually got the machine working! Now I just need to get the glass on the front replaced and work on the lights. As for the missing part, I am open to replacing both. I would love to try and find something close to what is there already and really like the neon. What would I call this particular part so that I could search for a replacement?

Thanks again for the help! My grandfather bought this from Japan when he was working there and it would be so much fun to get it up and running.

I got the glass replaced, its looking good! I am still missing the pocket but hopefully I will find one. I tried at fixing the electrical and ran into a problem. The light bulb in the center is just soldered to the wires, there is no socket to replace the bulb. Is it easier to just rewire? There are only two lights. The center and the ball hopper low light.

You might be able to find a replacement socket for the bulb, and just re-solder the wires from the bulb to the socket instead of re-wiring the whole thing.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if it was something special I needed. Now I just need to build a stand for it.
