    Default Machine Specs?

Does anyone know anything about this particular machine? Year? Type? etc.

1978 Sanyo, B style mechanics. Being that late it probably has the quick remove rear mechanics which makes cleaning / servicing super easy. (I think they also fixed the see-saw issues by this year)

Center feature looks intriguing. I see what appears to be a car on it which always sparks my interest.

    100 machines and counting...

The center feature theme is James Bond. Cool machine. I would get it for sure.

Can you post a picture of the back? I'm thinking it is a Comet II.

I am waiting to hear back from the dealer. He said that he is out of town, but will send me more photos when he returns (Nov. 11). Is there a benefit to a Comet II? What makes a Comet II special or different from others? I'm still learning about the variety of pachinko machines. Once he sends me more photos, I will post them here. I'm probably going to go buy it this weekend.

I still don't understand how it is a James Bond machine...I mean I get that there is a car and a boat and a man with glasses...but what about the afro clown at the bottom lol!

I'm not any more help on the James Bond significance.

Sanyo translates to "Three Oceans". Thus the play field text.

The Comet II is just another vintage mechanism.
Probably the third most common in the states behind Nishijin Model B and the light green Sankyo.
Known for the "sticky see saw" issue.
    Mostly deep yellow plastic.
Sometimes stapled / screwed on; sometimes snapped on with thumb screws.
Different versions of bottom back trays, different versions of lower track feed covers...

My favorite play field perimeter plastic feature is the dual circles... which your machine does not have...

Here is another example with the Three Oceans background.

How long have you been restoring Pachinko machines? You've had so many! Do you keep them all? Sell them?

I have the same centre feature on a New Gin. It is reminiscent of "Live and Let Die". There was a helicopter chase, car chases, and even a boat chase in the film! The plot revolved around Voodoo. Instead of afro clown, think Voodoo Priestess. Man with glasses is James Bond holding his gun with a partial Union Jack on his right..

Can you post a close up picture of the center feature on your New Gin? I'd love to see the detail.

Oh that is freaking cool. I'm going to have to add that to my watch list. I already have ideas for a cool custom background to play off the center.
