Default Nishijin Model A/B - Valuation?

Hi, apologies if this is bad form around here - please let me know if this is against forum regs and I'll remove - but I have a Nishijin vintage pachinko machine which I believe to be a Model A or B dating around the early 70's?

It's in reasonable condition I think, all mechanisms working etc (although I've never bothered wiring up the lights, all the wiring is intact). It could do with a bit of a clean.

I'm looking for valuations as I'm considering selling.

    Some photos here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/1xQYPvwBtL8bRdhP2

(Yes, I do have the ball feeder - I removed it for storage)

    I'm in the UK

    Welcome Aboard

Never a problem advertizing something or after information, after all we all want machines to go to good homes, especially as I'm also in Surrey

I'm more modern than vintage, But the back doesn't look like the model A type I used to own. Interesting fried egg design
Valuation can be hard, It depends if you are willing to ship or pick up only, the amount of balls it comes with, location, condition, machine action (centre feature, yours seesm to be a tulip and a spinning egg) and availible customer base.
The last few on ebay sold (or didn't meet reserve) just over the £50 mark. So that would be a good area to start in. If you take the time to polish the nails, and the chrome, repair the wiring and make it look as spiny as possible, you could get more. I think my model A sold for just under £100, but I earned a little extra by agreeing to drop it off in Twickenham.

Having had a look through some of the other posts here, I'm pretty sure it's a B model - never noticed the SOPHIA marking on the back before now. I've only owned the machine for 20 years!

Thanks though, that's useful information. I'm just down the A3 from you - just outside Godalming...

For £50 (or even £100) I think i'd rather spruce it up and keep.

I'm also in the UK but more of a Modern Pachinko gal, although I do own a couple of vintages, just to say i have some

Value is probably a bit more in UK then the US for regular vintages, but the market is very small, I'd pay over £100 for one that I really really wanted, but I'd agree with Mr Clam that about the £50 price point would be right price to start.

My advice is to keep it! play it and have fun!!

Thanks for that Angie. And thanks both for the welcome, it's refreshing to get that as a newbie on a speciality forum like this one!

I've had, and enjoyed, the machine for over twenty years now - but it had been in storage for quite some time. Think I'll try and bring it back to some of its former glory before deciding what to do with it.

    first off

    Welcome to Pachitalk

yes it is a "B" style machine... vintage machines on your side of the pond seem to be rare... if 100 pounds does not fit your numbers then defiantly keep it and play it.. there neat machines... i would rather have a vintage over a modern machine...

I would probably clean it up, and keep it. A full restoration would jack up the value though.
