Exclamation Did I Make A Mistake?

    attention

    Attention

    !?Form Over Function?!

So initially I didn’t want to post any of my game room until it is done.
I’m a little embarrassed because I’m not even halfway done and when I said “game room” I only mean 4 games. Most of these members can put me to shame with thier game rooms and have “four games” stuffed inside of their bathrooms!

However I’ve purchased a piece of furniture and I want to see if anyone here thinks it can support the weight of a pachinko and pachislo machine (with tokens/balls etc.).
I purchased this from Havertys furniture store. I realize that most members purchase gladiator work benches that people use to construct things for thier games. Some of them rated up to 1K lbs! But since this is also a bedroom (I get a “game wall” from the wife) “we” wanted something that matched the decore a little bit more.

It is advertised as a breakfast bar that can fold out into a full-sized table. Looking at the link and photos you can see how two of the legs set on the side spin around and the top “bar” unfolds into a table to be a full-size breakfast table. There’s nothing talking about the weight limit though.

I’m a little nervous because there is no center leg going to the floor underneath. It it seems sturdy enough from side-to-side so far. I have two days to return it if it doesn’t work for me.

What do you guys think? And please no judgment about my terrible game room.

I’m just looking for sound advice on if I should return this thing.

I will post photos once I have all four machine set up and some of the lights and other special stuff on my wall.

It looks like it can support the weight without a problem (cross braced, etc.). How is it as far as stability (front to back)? If it's stable, then go with it.

    /\ /\ What he said!

I have 2 machines on a similar table and its held for a few years now. I'd like to change them around eventually but its holding pretty well.

my worry would be the folding part.. make sure its stable and will not fold to easy..

otherwise its nice looking, should hold the weight...

Looks great to me! Have you tried contacting the mfg to find out about a weight limit?

All game rooms/areas have a beginning somewhere. No reason to feel odd about it. Here's my first pic of getting em off the floor in the beginning

Then I was bit by the pachinko bug. Wasn't it Luckydog who had a machine or two in his spare bathroom?

Thanks! I don’t plan on having more than 4 at a time. So I will be swapping out items (hopefully) at some point.

Good to know the table will hold! Or we think so...

looks awesome, stain the feet on pachinko, to match table, only problem I see, is when you decide to play for a while, losing balls go to back of machine, you need to make some kind of tunnel/tube so balls go to a bucket beside table or under. You might not need for your transformers, but if you get other machines, you will find out its a problem, also loading balls from front of machine, to fill top reservoir can be a problem, and you can make a mess easy (if SHE steps on a pachinko ball, your going to hear about it for a while), mount a larger container on top with a hole that funnels balls down to payout reservoir, it could be wood, plastic, or cardboard.
