Default New here, Reset wont work.

I recently got this machine from a neighbor the machine is nightfox. When I turn the power on I get an E6 code on the LED on the front and just an E on the inside LED. I tried to reset the machine following the steps to try and change the skill level and nothing works. The only way I can get rid of the E6 code is to turn the door key to the left but I still cant access the program mode. Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thank You in advance

    Hello

    Welcome to PachiTalk!!

So just to double check that you are doing the correct FULL reset including the odds change, here's some info on resetting, It's really important to follow each step carefully otherwise it won't reset.

"How To Set the Skill Levels of Your Pachislo
    HOW CHANGE ODDS:

    "TURN YOUR MACHINE OFF FIRST"

    1. Locate internal key switch, and insert key.
Note: In order to change odds, machine must be in idle mode with no tokens/coins or credits being played and off.

    2. Turn "reset" key switch to on, to access programming mode.

    3. Turn on machine now.

    4. Depending on machine type, a number from 1 to 6 will be displayed on one of the LED meters on front door.

    5. Locate and push Skill button. Depress button and notice movement of number being displayed in LED meter.

    6. Once desired level is displayed (1 to 6), push down on play handle (Joy Stick) for 10 seconds, and depress both "BET CREDITS" and "COLLECT CREDITS" buttons to lock odds level into machine memory.

    7. Turn "reset" key back to off.

    8. Machine should immediately initialize. If not, turn power switch to the OFF position, wait 15 seconds and turn power switch back to ON position.

I have done that and as soon as I turn the machine on I get an E6 code on the front LED. From there I cant do anything until I turn the door key to the left. That clears the error code but I still cant access the program mode to set the skill level

So it's not getting as far as 'locking in' the skill number then?

I don't recognise that Title? do you have the manufacturer name or better still a photo? It could help to track down what the E6 code means on that particular machine

    Welcome Aboard

Depending on what model depends on the error

From the list, it could just need a reset as Hanabi says above
    or a sticking reel.

The error code here just says setting value the solution is to change setting. I am unable to get into the mode to change anything.

one thing would be to do (with the power off) is make sure the key switch on the power supply is actually connected, I have heard of the wire on them coming off in transit.

    Continuity test the wiring/switch.
If as you say. You get the same issue. No matter what position the psu keyswitch. Thats a good place to start. Failing that. Its time to test every input like spin lever. Stop buttons etc. Some machines have handy leds on the processor to do this.

Continuity test done on the key switch and spin lever. Visual and tug on all wires and connections. Somebody somewhere has to have an answer. If not I will eventually get into the machine and check each board and ribbon cable. There really isnt much to the inside of these machines but tracing becomes tedious to me and I get angry easily. Not going to let my BP go haywire over a machine lol. Thanks for your input. Maybe someone will stumble on this post with an answer before I have to yank my bald head balder.
