Default Oizumi Sky Blue Reel Noise

New guy, first post. I recently purchased a Oizumi Blue Sky from a local guy in my area. In his garage it seemed fine but once in my basement man cave, the reels are SUPER loud. So loud that the boy came down, from 2 floors up, and asked why I was drilling into the concrete. If I apply side pressure to the reels they do quiet down quite a bit. I assume they are rubbing on something but can't see anywhere that it is rubbing. Anyone have any wisdom to share with this newb, as this is my first machine like this.

I do have a short video on my phone I can attempt to post, if needed.

    TIA,

    Rick Strait

Hello Rick and welcome to the group

Seems that perhaps something was a little loose and knocked out of position in transit. Have you looked around the reels and assembly housing to see if any screws are loose or missing? I'm not familiar with your model but the use of fasteners varies by manufacturers. Some have single turn plastic parts in place for the reels or complete reel cage while others have many screws holding everything in place. You could try loosening things and slightly shifting them if allowed and then re-tighten them. This was the exact scenario for one of mine. Also check for how level the machine is and shim it or move if needed.

You may have read of the reels and reel motors making noise which is typical. Some much louder than others! But I get what you have is far different than that. Somewhat related is my Thunderbirds which had some bends in the metal reel cage after some reel replacing causing an enormous amount of vibration noise. I could press on the edges in different directions which changed the pitch and loudness of the noise. I was able to reduce some of it by the method above.
