    Default thunderbird transformer

    hello,

wonder if someone could help me , I inherited a thunderbird slot from a friend, I do not own any of these machines so I am not familiar with them, I can tell you it has never been converted since it arrived here many years ago. wondering what I need to convert the power over and also where I may purchase.

thank you, I apologize if this information is on this forum somewhere , I couldn't seem to find it

    thanks

very few models are 24vac, most are 100, will tolerate 120. Should be a label on the back saying voltage. If 100, your ok to plug it in the wall.

Hello Darrell, I took some pictures of my Thunderbirds internals today for you to compare with yours. While the US and Canada share the same specs of 110/120 AC the plug on your machine should not be plugged into an outlet just yet. Assuming (and I use the term loosely) all the Thunderbird pachislo models use the same setup then you will want a transformer installed. The model plate on the back of my cabinet doesn't contain any power supply data but there is another sticker on the inside.

First picture is of the power supply, hopper and transformer. Second picture is with the hopper unplugged and slid out. Third picture is of the original power supply (on the left side) showing a data sticker. This one is for 24VAC at 10AMPS.

The transformer that came with my machine is a 120V to 24VAC at 6AMP in size and has worked well. Here is a sample of a US seller who has some similar transformers but you might do better finding one from within Canada.
