    Default Victory Okumurayuki Restoration

I'm starting the second of 4 machines I picked up in Chicago a while back. This one is a Victory Okumurayuki. I've never seen one of these before so it's me to me. Looks like the "guts" should come off pretty easily.
I do complete strip downs so I guess it really doesn't matter how it comes off!

Ive include some before shots and will post the after shots eventually.

So so far I've cleaned the Ball hangling mechanism and the front tray assembly. All the parts get cleaned and then I polish all the metal and wax all the plastic. Looks good so far

I have the same problem. If I select a pic that I don't want...or have already used, when I delete it, then it goes into the "attached thumbnails" box at the bottom. It also counts as one of your 9 pics per post. So, if I make 2 mistakes, I can only post 7 pics.

Looking good. If you find that you have some damaged or missing parts let me know. I parted one of these out not too long ago. A lot of it was in bad shape, but I did manage to salvage some parts that could be of future use. Happy to share what I have.

I think this one is complete. All of the covers are still on it. If I do find I'm missing anything, I'll let you know. Thanks for the offer.

Have you polished the metal parts, or just a clean? They look real nice.

i clean everything with "Awesome". That gets the dirt and smoke residue off both plastic and metal. I use a wire wheel on my buffer to get rid of any rust. With the brass parts, depending on size, I either use the wheel or hand clean with Brasso. The stainless stuff gets buffed on the wheel and then hand polished with a metal polish. I also wire wheel all the screw heads to get them shiny again. I use as much original hardware as I can.
It does take time, but the results are worth it. Besides, I'm retired. Got nothing else to do with my time!

Everything is off the main board. I clean most of it as I take it off so it is ready to go back on once I'm done with the board. I'll clean the playfield and front of the unit. The back board gets sanded as does the wood inside the front side. Then I apply polyurethane to all the wood.
While im waiting for the poly to dry, I'll take the frame apart. Clean all the metal and hardware and sand down the wood. Again with poly and I'll repaint the black along the bottom of the frame.

Going from memory, there is a thin, bent, steel rod; towards the bottom that looks reversible but is not. If jackpots are unreliable, try reversing it...

Thanks for the tip! I take many many pictures as I take the parts off. As I rebuild, I'm constantly checking back to the pictures.

Starting to put this kid back together. Tomorrow I'll put the rails back on and then after that it's pretty much smooth sailing with the rest of the parts.
