    Default Old dirty Hokoku

You may have seen this Hokoku on eBay a few weeks ago.2050-12-31 23.59.59-24.jpg I made an offer, and it is now mine!
I have had it for over a week now and have not touched it yet. New job, and working at (not for) the Honda plant in Marysville, Ohio. Due to the new body style of the Accord, there is manditory overtime, with the 1 1/2 hour drive each way...all I do is drive, work, drive, sleep, drive, work etc. But I'm working again, so I am not complaining!
The cell is yellowing, but I don't see any water stains.2050-12-31 23.59.59-26.jpg Has a bit better center feature than my other Hokoku.2050-12-31 23.59.59-27.jpg2050-12-31 23.59.59-28.jpg The spinner seems tilted upward more than normal, but looks like it is made that way.2050-12-31 23.59.59-30.jpgIt has the usual dirt and crud, so I have not tested it yet. Gonna do a basic cleaning first. The shooter side of the tray has 2 cigarette burns that will need to be sanded and polished.2050-12-31 23.59.59-31.jpg I thought the expiration stickers always had a staple in them...to male them tear if tampered with.2050-12-31 23.59.59-29.jpg I'm not good with expiration dates...is this month 2, year 51...add 25 and get Feb 1976?
Kind of interesting lower pocket/tulip combination.2050-12-31 23.59.59-34.jpg Not sure of the theme. Says "ALPS" in the center, has a Dutch girl walking with a house above. Lower tulip says "seaside", and I'm unsure of the lower pockets. I'm guessing an aerial view of a cruise ship (makes more sense than a rocket ship ) with a sun and star on the left and a moon and star on the right. Inside the lower door,2050-12-31 23.59.59-32.jpg The top white lever is excessively stiff. It appears to be part of the shooter cut off system, for when balls are low in the payout hopper.

Not sure what this lever resets.2050-12-31 23.59.59-33.jpg It lifts to activate. Have not had a chance to study it. Can't remember if my other Hokoku has it or not. Since it confuses me...I think not. I'll have to get the other one out of the attic to compare the differences. 2050-12-31 23.59.59-35.jpg I don't think my other one has a panther either.
Of course what discussion about a Hokoku would be complete without a pic of its unusual backside?2050-12-31 23.59.59-37.jpg It is missing a cover...2050-12-31 23.59.59-36.jpgAnd has a small ding.2050-12-31 23.59.59-38.jpgOverall happy with it, even though not tested. The Hokoku's with their unusual horizontal jackpot seem to be tempermental anyhow...so I don't expect flawless function without some tinkering.
One last pic...same as the 1st, except with flash.2050-12-31 23.59.59-25.jpg

Nice! Definitely unusual. I noticed it has 4 switches on it. What are their functions?

I'm not sure...I think the jackpot lights come on in sequence. Possibly the center first followed by the 2 outer lights. I havent even put a ball in this machine yet. I have another Hokoku with the same electrical layout...never tested the lights. There also is two terminal blocks for power input. Not sure the reason for that as well.
