Default Newbie to Japanese Slot Machines

Hello, I'm a newbie to purchasing fruit machine/slot machines. Used to play fruit machines from a young lad in the U.K and always wanted to purchase a fruit machine at some point when I was older and able to. As in life it never happened. Last week I arrived back from my first trip to Vegas and to my surprise my misses really enjoyed playing the slots out there. She doesn't understand fruit machines in this country. So obviously we can't get modern American slots in this country it seems but I came across a few Pachisio models on eBay and have now fallen in lov with the look of them .

i have made an enquiry on this machine near where I live on eBay and hoping he will accept my offer. I just wondered if anyone else has ever come across this machine before and if I need to consider anything considering it my fist ever purchase.

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/162570275699

Any advise will be greatly appreacited.

Well the advantages over UK machines are that they are a lot smaller and no legal issues. Down side is the reel spins can get a little repetitive sometimes.

As for buying one. Make sure you get one with plenty of tokens. I have 2000 split over 2 machines. The ebay seller doesn't list how many. Also make sure you get a UK transformer as well.

That machine has Don chan on the front at its probably one of the Hanabi series. Hanabi meaning fireworks. As for the remark that it came from a parlour in Ginza. Rather than any of the of thousands of parlours in Japan. Well you get my drift.
Other thing you will want is both keys. The door key and the power supply reset key. As for the price. Well. I just by my machines straight from Japan and get a shipping bill of just over £200 plus machine costs and import duty. Nearer £300. But I get a machine 10-15 years younger.

Thank you for the advise drunkenclam. Would you advise of a website to purchase them from Japan directly?

Thank you you for the welcome Peteybob! I'm hoping I'll be around more once I have invested in my first machine! Could see this becoming a new addiction!

Thank you for the welcome everyone

I have just spoken with the bloke on ebay selling the machine. He has confirmed there is a door key and a reset key and it comes with a UK transformer. I'm just waiting for a day he can deliver the machine now.

Do these machines generally come with a volume switch? He mentioned that it is very loud.

It was tempting to order a machine from YJA via fromjapan, but itis all very daunting especially as this is my first Pachislo or even slot/fruitmachine. Also my budget originally was £150 and I would be ending up looking atover £300 on YJA. I’d only end up in the doghouse with the misses spending thatmuch!

Hoping I have made the right choice...Eek

So quicker than I expected, my Don Chan Slot has arrived! In really good condition and works perfectly. Already disconnected the speakers as boy they are loud! Plus we have a little one and he already had a hissy fit when i dragged him away from the machine to put him to bed! Photos below!

So after playing this last night it appears I will need to buy few new bulbs for the reels which hopefully I will find on eBay. Even if it seems most parts are from America. Where would be a good place to buy 500 tokens from? I’ve seen one seller from the UK on eBay but it’s £20 for 100 tokens inc delivery. Seems very expensive to me

The Uk market is extremely limited. Which is why there is a lack of modern machines. I buy mine in Japan. Try to get as many lots of 500 as possible. Then sell the rest on. But then you have to mix size and weight. Things like tokens can go on the slow boat to keep costs down. But it takes 2 months to get here

Thanks for the info Drunkenclam. I’m trying to way up my options. I need to get a few replacement bulbs. I can see there is a few different types of bulbs. I don’t really want to take out the reels to have a look but just wondered does anyone know what type of bulb don chan Aruba slot machines tend to take?
