Thunder V2 - Top Banner Light On Normally ?

Anyone have a Thunder V2 ? - can you tell me if your Top Banner lights up during normal play ? (the top part that says INAZUMA RUSH) Or is this only meant to light up when you hit a bonus/jackpot etc. The bulb is OK because when I plug the reel light connector into the top banner power socket it lights up OK (they are both small fluorescent tubes)
