    Default King Camel

All I can say is WOW!! My King Camel arrived yesterday and I just couldn't stop playing it. It is awesome , except I can't hear anything this morning. Got to do something about that sound as the switch doesn't seem to do anything, (the wife nearly ran me out of the house as it is so loud). The joy stick is really bent bad and the reset key is broke,:02: so I called Milt and he will ship me what I need Tuesday . This is my first machine to buy off of Milt and I am definetly sold on his attitude and service. I sure did like the gold tokens too as they really look good in the machine. Well gotta read up on what to do to the volume on this thing.

I"m delighted you're happy with the KC. Sorry to hear of the problems, but Milt will fix you up.

Only the bottom speakers need volume controls. You might ask Milt to send along a pair of them if he has to send parts.

I think it's one of the best machines available today.

No, but I don't think it makes any difference.

I'm just curious, what part of the state is Duncan in?

Pine Bluff is about 35-40 miless south and slightly east of Little Rock.

Well Duncan is in the southwest corner of Oklahoma about 85 miles south of Oklahoma City. Well I couldn't wait on volume controls so I put in the resistors mentioned in the forum. They solved my problem, so can I leave them in or do I still need to get volume controls for the machine instead?

Never mind me. JC knows where he lives.. haha

I was thinking of Durant and it's I-35 that runs north and south. Man have I been in the NE part of the state too long!

Someday we ought to plan some sort of get-together. We can't let all the PA members have all the fun.

hey Tulsa, I still have that small squeall in the bottom speaker even after installing the 50 ohm resistor. Seems like I have read something about it before on the King Camel.

Trying to find the right resistor combination to eliminate that squeal and still have the volume you want out of it is going to be tough. I would certainly recommend using pots at this point to give you a bit of control. Since you have it quieted down and useable for the moment you have the time to send off and get some.

I have always had to put these on my Sammy models. They simply squeal. The two Sammy's I have though both have the LCD and all of the speakers require them.

    It's called "The Sammy Squeal."

Seems that is just part of a Sammy machine.

Yes but unlike the Sammy Squeal, some "real wine" will take care of the Yamasa issue.

Pouring the wine would be such a waste. Drink enough to make the reel noise disappear.

I guess I got lucky. My King Camel never had a squeal, even before I installed the volume controls. My Golgo 13 does have a nasty reel whine, though. Oh, well. Somebody pass the wine, please!

I've found a Wiederkehr Blush Niagara does wonders for the Sammy Squeal and the Yamasa Whine.

When my King Camel gets here, I'll let you know if it has that same squeal as Betty Boop and Hard Boiled have.
