Default Just picked up a Nishijin Model B from the local thrift shop. First time restore

Picked this machine up yesterday at Goodwill. Opened it up today and cleaner it up a bit and got the feeder to work so the balls will launch. Only one minor jam I've noticed so far.

My kids love the one my friends have so I'm looking forward to finishing cleaning it up, refinishing It, rewiring it and hooking up a battery so they can really enjoy it.

Here's a pic of the back that someone requested. It looks like it spent some time on someone's back patio since it had some leaves on it. Some of the balls that came with it are pretty rusted out. The launcher still works pretty good. The wiring at where I assume the battery goes is pretty messed up so I might have to rewire that. If I've read correctly a 9v should power it just fine, right?

Correct. A 9 volt battery or a 9-12v wall wart should work just fine. Just remove the blue wires from the wiring block and replace with leads to the wall wart or the leads to a 9v battery cap and then connect the battery.

also keep in mind your low ball or top hopper lief switch is bent up and "backwards".. when the machine is low/out of balls the metal rod falls pushing the lief switch closed.. this action closes the circuit turning on the bulb

I noticed the same thing regarding the low ball switch. It looks as though someone set it up so that the low ball light goes out when the lever moves. That switch should be normally open (balls present), and close to illuminate the light when balls aren't holding the lever up. Other than that, the wiring appears to be ok. The only ratty pieces are easily changed under the terminal thumb screws; i.e. no soldering required.

Straighten out the leaves of the switchand adjust them...and the wire on the pressure plate if necessary, so that the wire from the pressure plate is on top of the switch. They are usually bent up when you find one.

Thanks for all the help everybody. Everything is almost ready to go. I've run into just one problem. One of the tulips is stuck in the open position. The rest function fine but one on the right won't close. I've compared the back part to a working tulip and it looks like some sort of lever that's supposed to be under a part has come out of place. It looks like the only way to access this lever to fix it is to take off a decent chunk of the back cover. Any tips on the easiest way to fix this issue or just be very careful and follow YouTube videos that I assume exist?

Here's some pics I took to illustrate the issue.

Remove the 4 small nails and it will come out the front.

You might be able to free up the tulip by moving the metal tab that the ball drops onto gently up and down with a pair of right angle tweezers (almost wiggling it).
