Omron lock key interest?

I gots one of those for the Thunderzone! FOr you guys who don't know, these keys are cool turn one way and it opens the big door to get to the back of the machine, and turn it the other way and it just opens the front glass to get to the playfield. Much easier than opening these machines by hand from the back.

We have ET and Lion King - do we need to replace the whole lock or are these just generic keys that work ? If its a Lock/Key replacement I want 2. Otherwise just 1 key if they are generic.

Hey Folks,

If you all follow the instructions in Arby's sticky ( Pachinko Lock Conversion for 'Omron' Lock ), you can remove the pins from the lock, replace the lock, and then you will not have any need for a key. You will be able to open the lock in either direction with a small screwdriver or a hex wrench. If for some reason you really want to use a key, you can use just about any key blank that will fit the lock. You really do not have to order a key from Japan.

Not wanting to whizz on anyones blanket, but there are more than one series of Master keys. I have found three so far for the Omron Lock. The Master Keys lock alike, but the height of the key sides will very .5 of a silly Milla-meter.

Ask Bilko44, he sent me three Omrons and two were keyed to a different master than I have ans the other was to a different style of key. Had to totally replace all three locks to have them keyed alike to open with one key.

A 9/16" Allen Wrench works the very best, I have found for the "arbyized" Lock. It turns the barrel even on machine doors that open tough.

But on the other hand. If you want it total Japanese, than you need a master key. That will make it "one with itself".

As long as the key fits the lock (can be inserted) then 'arbyize' the lock and then you have an original key to turn the lock with.

I got a key from RK & discovered that the opening on my gladiator front face didn't allow it to fully fit the lock- the sides of the key were too wide (as per arby's post). I used my dremel tool to grind off some excess on an angle till the key fit, spray painted it black & it works fine now. I tried several dremel bits & the one that works the easiest & quickest is the sanding drum (coarse).

I got two of those from Rich, both work as expected.
When I got the LOTR, it came with one... so I knew which of my machines they would fit.
They fit 9 out of 10 of my newer machines, so I'm very pleased.
The only one that it doesn't work with of the newer ones is the Twin Vision... a Daiichi. It fits in the lock, but won't turn.
I'm a happy camper, and Rich kept his word! I'd deal with him again.
