Smile I found a Nishijin machine at the thrift shop. I need some advice please

I should start by saying I've known about pachinko for a while but I've never seen a machine in person. Ifound a machine like this in the thrift shop. I want to come back tomorrow and test it out. What do I use to hook up power to it? And what should I check for? I'm not too sure how to operate it 74NishKy.jpg

You should only need power for the lights to work. Looks like all the important parts are there. Grab it, 500-1000 pachinko balls, then come back and learn about how to get the Model B machines running well.

That's just a picture I found online. The machine I stumbled upon is kind of dirty/dusty but yeah it looks like that from the back. Some people online say you can just wire a 9V battery to the back, should I try that?

I wouldn't worry to much about testing the electrics on a vintage before you buy it since they don't use power to operate..Unless its like a Powerflash or something..

I would just try to study up on what its supposed to look like then just go over it to see if it looks like all the important parts are there.. With most vintages if the parts are all there then they are usually pretty easy to get working, especially with the great vintage pachi people here to help..

If you're still not sure, I would take pics of the front and back and post them here and someone should be able to tell you if it looks good!!

how much asking?? Offer $10 for it and you can't go wrong. Most likely if it is bad, you got that in parts

The pic you sent is a model B Nishijin...probably the most common type avalible. this is good when things go wrong, many parts are avalible (from parts machines), plus anybody collecting vintage machines has or had at least one...therefore much is known about them. If it has balls, you can test it. If not, then all you can do is see if it is complete, and nothing looks broken. Many times they are sold as not working, with nothing other than a ball jam, or something out of place. Typically easy fixes.

Hey everyone, I got it. I tried hooking up a 9v battery to the back but nothing happened. The fuse looks intact though. I tried feeding some balls and launching them but nothing happens. Also there's a handful of balls stuck throughout the back. I'm gonna look for some videos but if someone could point me in the right direction as far as getting it working goes I'd really appreciate it.

I know almost nothing about vintages, But do know that you need to get that huge ball jam out.

I think you get this huge build up inside of the machine because it is being played with the reward hopper (ball tank) on the back empty. So the balls inside the machine can not trigger and reset the jackpot seasaw.

    now thats a ball jam..

work them out... font force them to hard.. you can pop the back off and they will dump out.. but make sure you get it back in the exact same spot..

neat machine.. looks like a winner

Be sure to clean the balls, and discard any balls that are pitted. It will save you some headaches down the road.

Could someone please help me out? I watched some videos and I think I've gotten most of the balls out. But there's this part here, I can't tell if something there is supposed to be moving because it isn't. There's balls stuck in and around all the tulips and I can't get them to budge

Actually I think I got 2/3 tulips working right except the center one, which is a tad too old and creaky to close up when a ball hits it. But there's a bunch of balls still jammed up in my last pic, some of seem to be outside of where the balls are supposed to go. Am I going to need a powerful magnet or something to get them out?

Neat machine. May require some dissassembly to get the balls out. Take pics while dissassembling so it is easier to get back together.

Seems the balls go to crazy places sometimes during transport.

Alternatively, you can hold the machine upside down, and shake it to attempt to free the balls.
