Default New machine. Thoughts and opinions welcomed

This machine looks very complete. The typical questions I have, I cannot make out what brand it is? My guess is 70's? There was a part with a spring laying in the bottom and can't see where is goes? Also how can you remove acrylic paint? Some dumb sob painted parts of it... it looks to be nearly complete?

Correct! There was a hinge pin that allowed it to pivot open when the wire/spring that holds it in place is pressed down. It appears that the top portion of the hinge is broken off. If this piece stays firmly in place, it will still function properly. Without it in place, thw pressure of balls will cause them to pop up and fall out the back. This part holds them down.
The machine is a Nishijin front overflow. When your winnings fill the top tray, you can drain them to the lower tray. On this machine, they flow on the outside of the chrome door. On later models, they flowed through a hole into, and behind the chrome door to get to the lower tray...hence the name.\
I have always considered a front overflow necessary for any collection. This is the most common style. I have one, and am always on the lookout for the less common front overflow styles!

Ok fab'd up a hinge ping from a 2in roofing nail, C-clip and a few precise cuts and it works !

Thanks for the information! Is this model considered the A model?

That machine is indeed an 'A' model.

Good to see you got it on there! In the 2nd pic there is a broken spot above your pin where the top of the hinge was. If it is not as stable as you would like it to be, you could get a corner piece of plastic, position it like an upside down L ...epoxy the vertical part to the tray. and drill a hole (lined up properly) in the horizontal part. You would also need to make a slightly longer pin.
I may have a Model A tray laying around. I don'y know if they are all the same or not. May be more work than it is worth...but seems like you are not easily discouraged!
