    Default New Project

Satomi before.jpg New project, a before pic for reference. This machine only needed a new wire on the coin acceptor switch to be fully functional.

    Now the fun begins.

Completed project, Working as it should.

1 item of note with this unit, LED conversion in the matrix is not currently an option as the switches are on the negative side of the power. 1 light lit on a line and the led glows.Satomi Complete 2.JPGSatomi Complete.JPG

Beautiful restoration! These machines are so fun to play. That bonus feature must make it even more interesting. Any surprises found lurking inside?

The bonus if definitely a BONUS, so much fun when you hit "Lucky". Only surprise inside was an original coin stuck in the back circuit board connector.

Looking at changing out the pay lights for LED's (diodes on the pay board allows the LED's to work), does take away from originality, but kinda liking the blue glow of the LED's. Opinions, thoughts?

Very nice job. I've run into the issue of one LED glowing and then others glow because of it-thanks for that bit of info.
Anytime you can use LEDs in these old machines is a good thing and this is a case where the originality concern is easily overridden by the practicality and performance aspects of LEDs. They come in multiple warm white colors which perfectly mimic the original look if you don't like the blue cast of standard ones and are what I use in my machines.

Not sure why, but I have now 3 variations of LED colors ordering the same each time. The ones I used in the Taiyo better replicate the original lights. The Fuji I have a mix, brighter behind the white and warmer behind the reds in the matrix.

This batch seem even brighter and more bright white than warm white. May have to try a different supplier.

    fortunately LEDs are cheap.
