Default Star Wars Pachinko doesn't power on

i have a Star Wars pachinko (the one with R2-D2). It has lived most of its life in storage, but i had it powered on and working last December. Plugged it in today and hit the power switch. Nothing.

Not even sure where to begin in troublshooting. Any help would be most appreciated!

After all the basics like making sure all the lights on the PSU on the back are lit. This star wars was prone to cold start up issues. Do you have any frame lights? Hold.the chance button down just after you turn the power on.

Can you point me to any material that will guide me on checking the basics? im not real familiar with the machine. As far as i can tell, there are no signs of power anywhere on the from or back of machine when the switch is flipped.

i tried holding the chance button and saw nothing.

    thanks again for your input!

I know very little about moderns...but I read the threads. Star Wars has a know start up problem. Try searching pachitalk threads about star wars start up problems...or cold start problems. There are many threads as this seems to not be uncommon. Also consider the size of your transformer, high end moderns need a big transformer, and don't always have a sufficient power supply. Being a vintage pachinko guy, I have no idea what size is sufficient...but others here should. Good luck!

thanks for the input. i am a little familiar with the cold start issues for this machine. My issue now seems to be power related. no sign of any power to anything on the front or back of machine. id like to take a closer look at the fuses, but dont want to mess anything up if there may be an easy solution i am overlooking.

    thanks!

I'm afraid it's sort of start at the wall socket and work backwards. Only good it you have a multimeter.

As mains voltage is dangerous. Do not do anything dangerous.

Check you have voltage to the transformer.
Check you have 24vac from the transformer.
Remove and test fuses to see if they have blown.
Confirm the machine has a 24vac input at the PSU

A couple things to easily check in the picture below. Is the plug secure at the power supply as shown in the upper left yellow circle? Does your transformer have any kind of circuit breaker switch or button on it like mine in the lower right circle?

The center larger circle is of all the red lights that come on when first powered up with fuses below them.
