Default Identify this Nishijin Early Modern with small Lcd

Anyone? It looks like I'll be parting it out as the lcd is bad and I've no idea where to source a new one:

That's worth a try! I found a thread here that made reference to another thread that discussed replacing the lcd with one from a Gameboy or GameCube, but after exhaustive searches, I was unable to find it.

I still would like to know the name of the machine.

Why is it pachislo's have a thorough online database of almost every machine ever made, but pachinko machines don't??? https://www.pachislodb.com/database.php

    Wow,
    You are Elie EX

That just rolls right off the tongue, and makes you want to play it! (sarcasm)

Thx PeteyBob, I didn't mean to sound unappreciative. I don't think there's much love for this machine, and if one lives, it will be Mr. Fall., which is the only reason I bought this machine to begin with.

No problem, I didn't take it as a negative comment. To bad it isn't playable to at least see what it is like.

As for listings of machine titles, the pachislo list was and is a huge endeavor that is an ongoing project. I know I use it here and there for information. I do wonder what ratio there is of pachinkos to pachislos. The pachinkos seem larger with many variants of the same title that have different graphics or probability stats. Also the history goes further back adding who knows haw many titles. Talk about a big project in gathering titles!

You may have seen some lists here that pertain to titles for specific frames. Thanks to the hard work of members like Drunkenclam with the list of cells fitting the Sankyo/Bisty Lumina model frames. http://www.pachitalk.com/forums/mode...ina-frame.html And Daverob for his vast listing of game lists for many frame styles. http://pinballdave.com/pachinko/game...gamelists.html Sorry if I missed any other contributors to these lists. I imagine there were many members with input over time! I find myself refering to these list often as I see titles come up for sale and I want to see where they fit in.

It's playable, you just can't really see what's happening on the screen - It's very faded, you can somewhat make out what it's trying to show, but not totally.

I think the machine may be called "Success Story", as it has that printed on the front in small letters, and it appears to show a guy "pitching" his idea to three investors - kinda like Shark Tank on TV. I like "Success Story" better than "You are Elie EX" - LOL!

It's the first pachinko I've seen that the side pockets do not pay out - they are simple pass-throughs. It says "7 & 14" on the front, and it does pay 7 when you hit a pocket (except the sides). There is a slots-style game that gets played on the screen, I'm assuming when you match three it hits a fever mode of 14 ball payouts. There is a large trap door at the bottom of the playfield that opens up during fevers.

I'm gonna invest some time trying DC's suggestion of using a satnav LCD to repair it. If I have any luck, I'll share my "success story" with the forum!

Thats not quite what I said.
Someone took their screen out, Researched the make and model number written on the back, then found something with the same screen in, so it was a straight swap.
the resolution on a modern satnav is far to high for a 20 year old pachi

I replaced an LCD in a game with one from an aftermarket video game external lcd. Wouldn't be surprised if it hadn't come out of a pachinko machine in the first place. They're the first thing recycled out of these games.

Thanks for the video link DC. I think this game is going to get fixed! Here is another product you can "harvest" the screen from because it's the same Toshiba TFD40W11-B:
    mobilemonitor1.jpg

Its called an Interact Mobile Monitor for the Sony PS1 system.

Available on Ebay and Amazon for as low as $50.
