ashtray locked

I got a Nishijin Y&O model 15&5 machine. the ashtray was plugged shut with a cap that says something in Japanese and has the no smoking sign. is there anything to worry about in terms of value of the machine for leaving it in or removing it?
I want it out of there because while I don't smoke I use the ashtray for gold balls.

for me, value is based on looks and condition of the machine.. if you damage the look of the machine it will decrease the value.. if your keeping the machine then do as you like..

I discovered it's only lightly double stick taped into the ashtray hole. I was able to pop the plug with only a little glue residue left behind.
I am just thinking in terms of antiques, how artifacts of import changes give value and reversing the changes if visible can hurt it.
i'm going to keep my ashtray, and probably hold onto the plug because it's an interesting thing seeing the anti-smoking stuff on a machine designed with smoking in mind.

pictures because pictures. I'm not even sure why i'm so worried about hurting the historical value of something that isn't "old" but, I do truly feel the ash tray is more authentic than a warning sticker on a plastic plug.
I only paid $40 for it anyway, I probably shouldn't worry about anything I do that doesn't hurt the function of the machine.
