Default Daiichi hi-deluxe new vanguard shooter problems

I just purchaced my first two machines and the older of the two has a bit of a problem with loading balls into the shooter.
the gate to let balls in seems to ether allow none or two.
    KIMG0007[1].jpgKIMG0008[1].jpgKIMG0009[1].jpg
the wire that pushes the lever as shown in the second picture of the back seems to slip. i'm not sure what the mechanism is supposed to be but this seems like a home made replacement part it is looped around under the nut holding the striker to the handle.

    secondary (maybe)issue
a part snapped off in transit I found it being used in this video at about 14:20
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtQG...Pachinko%2CLLC

it doesn't appear to be vital to the function of the unit. should i worry about re-attaching it. maybe solder it in place back onto the bar it came off of.

    Hello and welcome.

Spring looks to be a replacement and almost looks to be rubbing on the shooter bracket. A pic of the broken part would help.

    Nice machine by the way

I think you're right about he spring as well, and it's attached very close to the shooter. Usually the end is attached much further to the right to give it some tension and hooked on a nail. A small adjustment plate allows you to fine adjust the shooter tension.

You can see the white adjustment bar on the right just under the yellow lock tab. Hope this helps.

I will look at the spring when I get home but for now this isn't really my original concern. The gate allowing balls in stops working. What's the mechanism supposed to look like for pushing that white crescent shaped part?

If the spring is supposed to directly move the loading gate my machine is really messed up

Ok that's the same wire push setup on the launcher loading gate. I guess I jus have to keep tightening the screw it's under

so I found the nails where that bar should be and I can tell now that the spring is attached to the roller that it is supposed to ride on top of, but the replacement spring in the machine is way too short to reach where the attachment point should be.
thanks for the help. I'll keep this in mind but for now the setup works even if it's putting pressure where it shouldn't.
and the bar that's hitting the gate seems to work if I tighten the screw even if that's not how it's supposed to work. the piece that is supposed to go from the bottom of the dump is completely missing I will have to make one out of wire.

attach a piece of wire to the spring... then wrap the wire back to the factory adjustment nail.. this will allow you to tension the spring as needed.. it will also allow you to pull the spring over the round point where the spring is currently connected..

    hope this make sense

or of course fine a replacement spring

    and of course

how long should the spring be? with all the coils touching it's about 3 inches. I think it's too small. not the correct replacement piece.

no its not correct, but the one you have should work fine if tension correctly

i'm going to have to tie the wire i'm pulling through to the nail it won't reach otherwise.
should it be resting with the coils separated or should it sit fully relaxed when the lever isn't pulled?

ok yeah with the picture now I see for sure my replacement spring is about half that length. the tension I put on it with a wire seems to be correct. i'm able to specifically control where the ball shoots rather than the way it was when I got it. all or nothing. it was ether shooting all the way to the bumper or falling back into the foul ball pit and out the front of the machine

I was thinking something like bailing wire or tie wire something that your can bend and ajust to get things where you want them.. but string works too..

it's 18 gauge stranded wire with a rubber coating. probably the right stuff to use if I want to rewire the lights. not sure if I'll ever get the electric up and running on this thing as it's only functional use is the empty tray light.
