Hot Peppers CE error code

Hi Folks, did a search and can't seem to find any information. I have a Hot Peppers machine and after reset it will spin once then go into beeping alarm with CE error shown on front.
I pulled out the hopper and cleaned it, it will dispense tokens perfectly...no idea where to look next. I tried the hard reset, no joy either.

Any clues?

You say no joy with the hard reset. Is that saying the reset was successful and just not resolving the issue?

I did the hard reset and the machine booted up let me drop 3 coins in and spin.... then went back into the CE error.
When I took the hopper out to clean it I did find what looked like a small Christmas ornament hanger in it spinning around with the tokens. No visible damage and it dispenses tokens like a champ when i hold down the lever.

It acts like it thinks it is out of tokens....

I don't have any machines by the manufacturer as yours (IGT?) but I think the CE is for coin error whereas hopper errors may start with a H. But some brands are slightly different so I hope one of our more seasoned pachislo players will see this.

I would check the coin mechanism and pathway into it. Your first tokens could make it through with a delay in the error. Gunk builds up inside from dirty tokens and anything else that gets in there.
