Default No working lights on middle reel

Just bought an Aristocrat Kyojin No Hoshi machine. The bulbs on the center reel do not light up at all, but the reel works fine. I removed the reel and saw there are six bulbs inside it. I doubted all six could be out, but I checked one and it looked good.

Should I try the reel in another slot and see if the problem follows?

If not, what steps should I take to repair this issue?

Sometimes they visibly look good to the eye, but the metal is so fine you can't see a tiny gap...I had the same issue with a machine i picked up recently but it was the left and the right reel and they were 3 sockets instead of six...best i can suggest is to pick up some on ebay and replace.

Sounds more like a wiring or solder issue to me if all the lights are out. You could swap the light board with one of the others. This could rule out a possible bad connection if it fails a second time. If it lights up then check over the connections and try it back in the original spot. Not all lights may be lit on every spin so keep spinning reels to check them. I have a few that randomly leave a light out when some action is coming up soon.

If you move around any reels then you will want to remember what original positions they were in. Some reel strips are different than others and need to be in a certain location of reels one, two, and three for the proper showing of winning combinations.

I found this to be true. I switched the "unlit" middle reel with the fully-working right reel. The non-working lights follow the reel - in other words, the reel that was originally in the right position is now lit up in the middle position, and the reel that was originally unlit in the middle position is now unlit in the right position.

HOWEVER, gameplay is not correct with the reels switched. Everything looks like its working, but it will hit when it shouldn't, and vice-versa, so the reels, at least on this Aristocrat machine, have to be in the right spot!

This brings the discussion back to the original question of the bulbs. Perhaps I should swap some known working bulbs from another reel to see if they light, before ordering new ones from Ebay? I see the bulbs are $10 for 3 there.

Any and all suggestions are appreciated.

I bought these for my Kyojin No Hoshi machine. They are $8 for 10 bulbs and base.

I checked all the bulbs with a meter, and they were indeed burned out. Used another guy's idea to replace the bulbs in the white plastic socket with regular white christmas bulbs - it worked great! Cost me nothing but some time, and now all my reels are lit up nicely!

CORRECTION: IT DIDN'T WORK GREAT! The bulbs looked fantastic at first, but they all burned out within 30 minutes. Maybe a different type of bulb would've lasted longer.

I'm gonna order the Amazon ones that Wayne-OOO found.

You can also find them on ebay, they are used pulled from a machine, but you might get them faster... http://www.ebay.com/itm/3-Pachislo-S...sAAOSwVFlT6Kqk
