DSC07348.jpgDSC07349.jpgKaiji is a japanese manga about gambling. The Kaiji pachislo has a large video screen on the front of the machine and 3 spinning reels at the top. I'll try to upload a couple photos for you.

I put the tape over the speakers because it does not have volume control. The tape makes it a lot quieter. The machine is in mint condition. Cosmetically, there aren't any scratches anywhere and it works perfectly.

Still thinking about that Sonic, for real...
I showed my friend your Ranma 1/2 with the Ranma cell and she was like "But you already have Akane..."

Haha, you can never have too many different cells The Sonic machine is definitely a collector's item! It's a cool machine. I grew up playing sonic and so when I saw this Sonic on a Japanese site I had to get it! I wish I would have known I would be charged $450 for shipping beforehand though.... haha. So either way I'm selling it at a loss but It's an awesome machine. Did you get your Cutie Honey machine yet?

alucard7x7, would you mind sharing what shipping service you use that enables you to ship pachislos for $85??? It would be a real service to the community. UPS and Fedex shipping calculators seem closer to $200!

What weight and dimensions should we use when calculating shipping?

    THANK YOU SIR!

I ship using Fedex. The shipping is usually around $85, you can't always trust calculators! Sometimes you need to go in and just see what they will charge (although it can vary by FedEx location and be much more expensive). An example is the Kaiji pachislo I just sent out. it was 85.7 lbs and cost $81 plus $5 to make it signature required. I'm not sure the dimensions, but it was not much larger than the machine itself.

Honestly though, I put $85 flat shipping rate because, yes, I may lose money on a machine that costs more to ship, but it is SO difficult to sell these things because people can be really cheap. I would rather sell them, lose some money, and make someone happy by getting a machine they want than haggle with ridiculous shipping. Is it smart, not really but I figure I have received my return on investment with most of my machines and someone else deserves that time now at a reasonable cost. I figure there really isn't much money to be made on pachinko machines unless you are preying on people who don't know any better and overpaying for what they receive.

    Thanks!

Thank you for your excellent reply!
So you just box 'em up and take 'em to the Fedex store? No corporate discount or anything? If so, that's encouraging.

Next subject should be "How to safely and securely pack your Pachislo for shipment" - LOL - Honestly though, how DO you box them up?

Ooops, I'm mixing apples and oranges (I should be mixing a gin and tonic!). Pachinko's are cheaper to ship than Pachislos. The $200 figure was for a pachislo machine.

    Thank you!
I did box it up and take it to FedEx, no discount. That being said, I had someone "help" me pick up a machine from out of state once - Arizona, I live in Utah. The fee to have FedEx pack the machine and ship it was $200... Wayyyy more than I paid for the machine! So there's an example of variations in cost between locations. I think it also helps to pack the box yourself.

I think I may make a post on shipping machines safely and how to pack them. It really isn't hard! I learned after receiving 6 or more machines from Japan. Most the machines had very little to no packaging inside and the boxes were no wider than the machine and only slider larger depth-wise to protect the screen. I was amazed these machines could make it from Japan to the States without significant damage but I honestly think the less room for the machine to move around, the better. You have to protect the screen and glass, that's a given, but the frames are surprisingly durable. I'll post something soon with pictures as soon as I ship another one out.

Is this the one that was on YJA for years in the wrong section for about $30. I was temped by that one. But as you say. The shipping is a killer and certainly not one for profit.
