Default Newbie with an Oriental... have no idea where to start

Hi everyone! Quite a nice site you've got going here!

I'm sure you guys get this all the time... I'm a total Pachislo newb. My family was just given an Oriental Pachislo and I have no idea what to look at to get it up and going. I think there may be some pieces missing. Here is what I know so far:

    • It turns on but there is nothing on either digital display. The digital dispays did turn on for a brief second when I shut the door, but then turned off.
    • I don't have the keys, but found a great post on here that detailed how to open it up. It sounds like I'll need to order 2 different assemblies.
    • The lights all seem to turn on.
    • The coin mech looks like it was hot glued on at one point. It doesn't seem to work and I don't see a good way to mount it.
    • I only have one token... so I think I'll be ordering some. Are they all the same size?
    • And of course it needs a major cleaning!!!

I've attached some pics in hopes that some one may be able to point me in the right direction. I hope I've posted this in the correct place.

Doing a little research and see that I am missing the hopper. Is it okay to ask for recommendations on the best place to purchase one?

Hello gern and welcome to the group

Looks like you have some work to be done there. As for a hopper I have found this eBay seller very helpful for parts. If you don't see your item then send him a question and he will try and help you out. Seems like he has much more than what is listed. Otherwise there might be a member here with a parts machine willing to help out.

Peteybob, I contacted that eBay seller and he's got the hopper I need. Hopefully I can get that ordered soon.

I wired in a switch to replace the reset key last night. I was able to get a game started but my stop buttons would not work. From looking around it seems like I may need a new stop reel board.

I'm going to give the machine a thorough cleaning this weekend and hopefully get the parts ordered that I need to get up and going. I will need to order some tokens too. Does anyone have any recommendations on where to buy tokens? I've seen plenty on eBay. I think the best deal I saw was $54.95 for 1000 tokens.

I'm glad you could find a hopper Keep4safety also sells tokens but a little more expensive. I got some nice ones from him last year when I picked up a couple machines he had. You might be able to do a package deal with him for multiple items.

Many members have bought tokens from Pachinko Pagoda on eBay and have been very pleased. Here is a older thread with several recent comments about this re-seller. There are two sizes of tokens, 25mm and 30mm. The 25mm (size of a US quarter) is more common but a seller may have both. Just double check the size before placing an order.

Thank you so much for the links. You've been a great help. Unfortunately it looks as though I've hit a wall. If you look at my pics above you'll notice I'm missing the stop reel button board. It sounds as though they don't come up for sale very often. Hopefully I can track one down. Sounds like I need one wI think a part number ending in p2 or p3. If anyone knows of one for sale, I'm all ears!

I have one thing that's been bugging me. In the pics above you can see 3 button marked 8A, 3A, and 5A. Does anyone know what those buttons do?

I would guess they are fuses.

Not sure if it's related to the fuses. They are definitely push buttons. I need to do some googling and see if I can find a copy of the manual.

Panel mount fuseholders will push in a little. Have you pushed and twisted them? They will usually have a "knurl", or ridges on the edge to provide grip for turning them. Not saying that your issue is fuse related, just that they look like panel mount fuses, and are labeled like fuses. I think they are fuses as well.
If they are fuses, and are still good...it is always good to know where the fuses are.
