    Default Rotamint Exquisit help!

Hello! I'm brand new to this hobby. I found a Rotamint Exquisit on craiglist for quite cheap, so I thought I would take a try at getting it working. I'm in the US so I purchased a 500w transformer to step up the voltage to 220v. When I fired it up, the lights all came on and appeared to be working fine. The coin mechanism was not functioning properly, so I can't say whether or not the rest of the machine works. However, my problem is that after running for around 10 minutes, the unit shut off and I heard a burning sound coming from the the part indicated by the red arrow in the image. I'm also very inexperienced with electronics, so I'm not sure what caused this or what this part is. It says "Funk- Enstor filter" on it which translates to EMI filter. I investigated and couldn't find anything obviously wrong with this part or any other components.

Any advice with this would be appreciated! It appears that there hasn't been many Rotamint threads lately so hopefully you're all still out there!

Hello dowl0023 and welcome to the group

I haven't had any experience with Rotamint machines but they look cool, nice find! Hopefully others will be along soon to offer some help.

Just wanted to say hi How's snowy Minnesota? I still miss living in Saint Paul at times.

Maybe it had already been modified to run on US 110 volt and not 220/240 volt?

Welcome to Pachitalk!I have a Rotomint Joker...but I haven't fixed mine yet...so I'm not much help either. Rotomints are similar to Rotomat. Instead of 3 discs that spin on a horizontal axis, it has 3 drums that spin on a vertical axis. KINDLE_CAMERA_1491242719000.jpg Not that that helps...but now when you see the word Rotomint, you won't think it it a typo.
