........by the way, I did not bid on it. Really, I didn't even know what sniping was until one of you nice people explained it too me last week. It sure made sense to me as I have participated in too many bidding wars to want to do it again. I always knew there had to be a trick to it...and now I know what it is. I'm just saying that info should be passed along to new member so that we don't end up messing things up for everyone. Just one question.....if we all use a sniping program that places our bids in the last 7 or 8 seconds of an auction........oh never mind.

That would be interesting wouldn't it?

That would be a good question for a survey : Would an auction that is run strickly by last second (lets say for example 8 seconds left) snipe program bidding cause the item to be priced higher or lower than the way things are run now on Ebay ?

    Good question dattia !!

i would think if 20 members all put in a snipe bid it wouldn't go for a lot more, because they aren't going to put in a crazy high bid.

but, one newbie with a thousand dollar snipe bid will.

I agree that there really isn't anything that can be done with a bid like that and all you can hope is that kind of snipe bid is made too late and doesn't get in.

Tulsa you are correct, the playability is what itÂ’s all about. I know members feel anyone that pays the price that a Harley Davidson is going for now has to be crazy. But as you stated about the Spin Luck DOUBLE THAT PLAYABILITY and PERSONALITY and what you have is the fun of a Harley Machine. I think you will never loose money on the H/D because when you go to sell anything licenses with a Harley Davidson logo the range of buyers increase with deep pockets, not just Pachislo lovers, ask Slotter about H/D owners.

So members go for the fun of a machine and enjoy it while you can, life is too short and these machines relax me from a bad day at the office.

Nice summary, ol-pachiman. I always figure someday Tulsa will get himself a Harley and then we'll be hearing him singing, "BORN TO BE WIIIIIIIIILLDDD!!!!"

You're right Slotter, someday I will have one of those elusive beasts. It will either have to come down in price or I get a whole lot more disposable income. But I will get one.

I dont know how much it really matters if the machine goes high early or late, its going to go high one way or other. You might as well put in what you want to pay for it and see if you win, if not, another one will be along later. THere are lots of snipers on each auction, so its not really sniping at that point!

I am not saying it does not benefit you to put in a bid at the last minute to get an auction for as low as possible, I am just saying that some people can not always do that. I do not want to leave a laptop on all the time due to the fact that they run warmer that a desktop and do not want to cause problems with it. I also would never give my ebay information to a third party to place bids for me as I feel that there would be a greater chance of someone getting a hold of my info. Bid or snipe anyway you can or want, just don't get upset with someone because they are willing to go higher than you want or if you get sniped at the last minute from someone that snipes. All is fair on the auction block!
    and a few others.

    Brad,

This is a little off the the topic, but this is what I use with my laptop:

Ive got one of those for my big XPS laptop & brother it works well.
However, I am so paranoid about giving 3rd parties my info. No one is 100% safe from I.D. theft. And no one is 100% capable of preventing the info they have on others from being stolen. Its a freakin' scam that the big 3 credit companies can collect everything about you without your knowing it, do a crappy job of protecting that info & then want to charge you extra to keep it safe! WHAT!?
No thanks babe, Ive learned the sniping is better & more reliable & I hate to see this stuff:

    But sometimes, doodude happens...

Check the times her bids were made. I think those are automatic bids...maybe?

I think the bonehead just kept adding $5 until she overtook the lead.
The 1st group she bid every 17 to 60 seconds after 6pm.
Then she had the lead for 2 days, checked it & saw she was losing, started another round of bids, got behind once, started bidding again & finally gave up at $260.
This is not unusual for her/him. (Lets just call her a her, ok?) Ive seen her for several weeks try to maintain the lead & I dont think Ive ever seen her win a slot or chinko game.

Geez I guess the idea on trying to out bid everyone 4 days before the auction ends is what keeps Ebay and Sellers going. Now being outbid in the final 5 minutes or so in a Auction is what the "auction block" is all about. But this kind of bidding days before an auction ends creates ideas in little brains like hmmm is there shilling going on to run the prices up? Look at this way : If I had a SPIN LUCK that I wanted to sell and saw one on Ebay right now hmmm maybe I would run up the price on the one being auctioned now just to make sure that when I put mine up for sale later that it would go at a higher price. Or let's say you have 5 in stock....etc. It really does not make sense to bid 4 days or even 2 days before an auction ends(your chance of winning is nil) and if you do then you can raise questions and we have those questions come up here everyonce in awhile.

Bid on Ebay auctions like they should be bid on and do it when the actual "auction block" exists and you will be doing yourself a favor.
