    Default Reels Won't Stop

Hello! New to the forum. Just got a Magic Pulsar Slot Machine and it has an issue where the reels wont stop spinning after you put the coins in and pull the lever.

The 3 buttons on the front of the machine do not light up, but if you press them the red indicators on the board inside the machine light up so it looks like it's sending the signal. The reels start to spin but never stop. The far right reel tries to stop and stutters, but then goes back to spinning endlessly until I reset.

Any idea on what the issue may be? I'm good with wires and electronics, but am new to slot machines so I'm not too sure where to start.

Here is a video of exactly what it does:

Thank you to everyone who helps!

Hello SimmOnS777 and welcome to the group!

I have this same machine and was trying to duplicate your problem but couldn’t come up with the reels not stopping. Perhaps you have a combination of loose or corroded connections? You can disconnect and reconnect each wire set. Sometimes they loosen from the machine being moved or may have some corrosion that will be knocked off by reseating the wire harnesses.

The first picture has a green wire set in the orange box. Check this wire set for damage or if it is loose on either end. This is for the controlling and lighting up of the stop buttons.

If I am correct, the second picture is of a stop board which a parlor connects to for stats, etc. I’ve pulled the fuse, unplugged the wire harness, but my reels will still stop automatically left to right on their own after about a minute. Would you have another small circuit board in-between the wires and this board on the wall? Some small aftermarket auto stop boards fit in here. If so, try the machine with this eliminated.

    I agree with Peteybob.

It is most likely a connection problem. Even though the connections may "look okay", resetting them may cure the problem. Be sure to reset both ends of the wiring harnesses Peteybob has pointed out.

Your 3rd reel, stopping and starting is a sign that the reel sensor is dirty. While the reel is spinning, a tab on the reel sprocket passes through a sensor. This is what tells the motherboard, where the reel is, as it is spinning. If the sensor is dirty, it can see the tab and can't tell the motherboard the position of the reel, so it stops and starts to try and find it.

Should be a couple of screws holding the reel in the reel cage. Remove those and the reel should slide forward, out of the reel cage. You can clean the sensor with a Q-tip moistened with some window cleaner.

Another good point here by luckydog

I didn’t think to mess with the machine exterior yesterday. Today, when I held down the spin knob as if it sticks and the reels spin, the stop buttons do not light up or function. The same goes for if I keep a stop button held in as if it was stuck and the spin knob is in the correct position.

But in both cases my reels still stop automatically after about a minute. I still think there is an additional problem like the reel sensors (or wiring to them) like Wayne-Ooo mentioned.

Alright so I started with PeteyBob's advice. The wiring looks okay in the first picture. I do have another small circuit board in-between the wires and the stop reel board. I bypassed it and the problem still occurred. I moved on to Wanye's advice. I fully removed the reel, where is the sensor that I would need to clean with the Q-Tip?

I've attached pictures of the reel. Thanks again for everyone's help so far! I'm determined to get this thing working!

Got it fixed! I pulled out the reel to try and locate the sensor so I could clean it. I noticed that the sensor on just the right reel was dislodged from where it's supposed to sit. I popped it back in place and it works like a charm now! Thanks everyone!
