Rigging up an old hopper for a coin dispenser??
Does anyone know or can help me set up an old hopper to dispense coins until it reaches a certain limit? If possible I can hook i up to a computer com port? I dont know where to start, but would really like o get this to work and would be willing to pay someone to set this up for me. Thanks alot for your help.

with my yajyu the power supply has a button to make the hopper spit out tokens that might be a place to start.

I want it to be a stand alone unit that I can set to 50 coins and when i press a button it dispenses until it reaches 50.

You would have to find the piece of hardward that controls payout. then modify it to think it had 50 credits then uncredit them
I think this would be very hard to do

Or I would even accept something that when a button is pressed it dispenses until you let go and then have a digital, resetable counter beside it to count the ammount of coin out.

how about this you use the boards from a junk machine and add an auto credit chip and then you can press front buttons to add the 50 creds the the credit dispense button to get it back. but you would strip the machine so that all you would have are the boards and button and then mount them on or around the hopper.

the front buttons, an auto-credit chip, the boards the autocredit chips connect to, the board the buttons connect, to and the board the button the release the coins connect to and im probably missing a few.

I do business with seven mile slots. when get tokens he has a stand alone hopper that has its own transformer matches to it to run it and an on off switch with a counter on it he turns it on on dispenses as many tokens you want. It is not automatic thou. You have to manually turn it off when you get to the amount you want. I asked him about it and making one and a friend made it for him and takes a spacial hopper that you can hook up your own transformer to it with the Right voltage. I do not know what else makes it the right hopper. There should be some way to have it stop at the right amount of tokens without needing a lot of extra stuff on it. Seven mile slots is a member here. Maybe he can give out the specs on his to start out with and go from there.

Where are you from in Wisconsin??? And I can get a 24v transformer from my local ace hardware but then I need a counter. Any ideas would be great!

Myself and a friend took an aruze hopper and changed the voltage to run on a regular household plug. We added a simple power cord with on/off switch as well as a resetable counter.. I can count bags of 1000 tokens in under 3 minutes. Its 100% accurate and is a lifesaver for me since I sell so many tokens. Since I have many parts machines I am going to start removing the hoppers and making additional counters for possible resale.

I installed a counter on my Babel to count the out tokens. It came from www.happcontrols.com. I used item # 42-3233-24. Maybe they have some resetable counters. I got the info from

I did it!! I figured out my counting problem. For a counter, I used an old solar calculator. Ill post directions and pictures tomorrow night since I want to go to sleep.
