    Default Ginza Tokyo Tower

Just got delivery on a Ginza Tokyo Tower single shot. Found it on LetGo from a seller in DC/Virginia area for $40. Seller said that he was planning on renovation, but thought he was in over his head. Anyhow, it came with about 500 balls (kinda rusty). I'll use the rusty balls to see how functional it is, then clean up. Any ideas on the age of this machine? It has no tulips and does have two jackpot lights. The front extra jackpot release lever is interesting (last photo)

Nice Ginza! Love those early single shots! I would say it is mid to late '50s. Machines from the early '50s would not have lights, and machines from the '40s are exceedingly rare.
If the jackpot seesaw is in the down position and a ball hits a jackpot, the ball will roll into the clear window in front. This holds your jackpot ball in reserve until an attendant resets the seesaw. Usually 5 balls can be held in reserve. Once the seesaw is reset, the button or lever on front can be pressed and an elevator will lift the ball and place it in front of the seesaw to pay jackpot. I like to put the seesaw in the down position, drop 5 balls into a jackpot to fill the "jackpot reserve chamber" (I made that name up), then reset the seesaw. Put a handfull of balls into the front tray and play as usual, when you run out of balls, simply press the JP reserve lever and 15 balls will be payed out to continue playing.
Everything looks to be intact, so it should work. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
