Question 9-Drum Gladiator; Do the smaller holes do anything?

Hey all, I'll try to make this quick. I just recently picked up my first Pachinko after owning two pachislos; The 9-Drum Gladiator.

    20161208_171827.jpg

Everything's working perfectly as I can tell, but I just had a question. When the balls go through any other hole except for the main "spin the reels" hole, nothing happens. I'm not even sure if anything is supposed to happen but by the way they look, it looks like getting them through those holes should cause something.

I just wanted to know if I was wrong on this. Please excuse my ignorance. I've seen a few machines that have smaller prizes (1-2 balls) if you get it through other holes so I just wanted to check.

Hello Eperiod and welcome to the group!

I don't have this machine but I would think that you would win some balls. What happens if you drop balls in the main pocket/hole? Do balls physically payout to your front tray? If not then you may not have enough balls in your top rear tray or something is jammed in a ball travel path or the payout motor and prohibiting payouts from any pocket.

Hopefully someone who has/had this machine can offer some insight.

Hey thank you for the welcome

Yes, getting it in the main hole gives me back 5 balls. There is one hopper that is not working, and the previous owner plugged it up... could it perhaps be that the smaller holes dispense from only one specific hopper and that's why it's not working? There's three in total, the other two work fine for both the 5-ball prize and the fever.

The bell goes off if I get it in the main hole, and it doesn't do anything in any other hole so that might not be it. I'm stumped!

Absolutely. The first hopper line is plugged as shown. The other two work perfectly. I of course had to empty out this to take the picture. I have about 600 balls in there when it's running, so there's enough to keep it filled.

From what I can remember, I think the previous owner said the balls would sometimes get a little stuck heading into that first chute and he had to kinda "flick" the balls around to get it to fill, so he just plugged it. I actually don't know if anything is wrong with the hopper itself. I could unplug it and give it a whirl when I get back home tonight.

There's so much I don't understand about this machine ahah. There's some lights that come on at times too (in my picture, the two lights in the circle next to the top right reel, there's some on the right side too but those are off in the pic) and they shut off on a timer but nothing changes on the play field. I guess that's part of the fun is figuring it out!

There must have been a reason that hole was there ... I would unplug it ...if balls stick that would be the thing to look at ...

I was once told that the track closest to the cell was for the parlor ball loan system. Also works with a Dave rob dongle. If this is true, it would not be your problem. I would still unplug that track to test the theory. Also, make sure there is nothing blocking either of the other 2 tracks. It might be 1 track for the start pocket, another for the side pockets...and the final track for the ball loan system.

Hi, I as well have a 9 drum gladiator machine. From what I can tell from my machine, the primary pocket ONLY starts the drums, there is NO return on my efforts (not a single extra ball and I have the reward hopper with a good amount of balls.) As for the secondary pockets, the outer 2 do not offer any bonus payout. The Inner 2 have switches in them.

I am rather disappointed that I am not receiving any extra balls from getting any extra ball payout. Not quite sure what I can do to rectify my issues.

So have you ever gotten any kind of payout??

If you post some pics of the back maybe someone can spot a problem!!

0 payout, no indication of a japckpot occurance (a few almost got theres). Also I thin the machine or frame is on a bad tilt, but thats an issue for another day, pictures coming soon.

It's possible for yours to be a cyclic model Where it's not meant to pay our balls.

Not quite sure how to tell if it is cyclic. Everything looks plugged in correctly, nothing missing. IMG_0523.jpg Back of the machine, picture is from my phone

If you play a ball and it drops out the back, it is not cyclic, if it comes back out the front to be played again, it is cyclic.

It can be hard to tell with out opening it up otherwise. The modifications are usually where it is hard to see.
