Best way to test is to block the hole. Then pour in a couple of hundred balls. Then uncover the hole.

Of course. Ball lifters bring on the subject of where your reservoir of balls will be. Normally a couple of thousand per machine.
Do you have a lifter that replenishs the machine when the machines tank is empty. (A bottom reservoir) or as soon as the spent balls get to the lifter they get returned to a top reservoir.

Just chiming in. I've been in the here there project of ball lifters as well

I've 3D printed some odd little contraption that is small and somewhat simple and will be testing for a long while, then sending to a few people to test then make a thread if it works

an opinion on the 3D printed parts I found early on in testing was pla just doesn't hold up, check out xt, ngen, taulman blu print or alloy 910 nylons (maybe Petg). Them balls are very hard lol.

im looking to go single ball flow, one falls out it starts its way up to the main hopper, I'm very intrigued to see how the dump bin style project you have going comes along !

    thank you for sharing !

    Hi guys

been away for a little bit but ive been playing around with a new idea for my ball lifter roughly based on this idea

    http://woodgears.ca/marbles/plans/video.html

currently in the process of testing a 3D print version that I will base my version on check this out if you want to play along or throw an idea or 2 in

    http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:191875

I'm hoping to make a simple easy to maintain 3d printable pachinko ball pump that's really compact and should fit in any machine cabinet I'm also going to have it so you press a button to refill the ball hopper your self using a arcade game button mounted to the cabinet but people could easily change this to a micro switch that would keep loading while the balls are in the lost ball hopper

Not much to report on this except unfortunately the 3d print failed after 2-3 hours use (ran it a bit to quick I think!!) but I have an idea to fix the weaknesses in the print itself which should stop the fail from happening.

The balls didn't jam which was nice and until the side broke away from the top part everything was going well

I had it running from 1 of these little motors which as a 1:100 ratio gearbox

    motor.jpg

had enough power to lift about 200 balls but i believe the pump was doing most of the actual work

How do they work in the Japan parlor with the ball lifters going to all the machines? Does anyone have a video of behind the scenes at all? A video of a pachinko parlor build would be awesome. I just got my third pachinko last night being an Indiana Jones so will be looking at a better way to feed all the balls to the machines soon.

I'm not sure but I've been told they use a conveyor belt type system not sure if that's true or how it would work though

I saw a post a while back with a cabinet type system that one of the members here posted that feed a few machines from a central reservoir I will have look see if I can find it
