Best way to test is to block the hole. Then pour in a couple of hundred balls. Then uncover the hole.

Of course. Ball lifters bring on the subject of where your reservoir of balls will be. Normally a couple of thousand per machine.
Do you have a lifter that replenishs the machine when the machines tank is empty. (A bottom reservoir) or as soon as the spent balls get to the lifter they get returned to a top reservoir.
