Default Nishijin Model A - not loading ball

First machine. Testing it out for the first time. When the plunger/shooter is pulled back, the ball will not load into the position to be hit by the plunger/shooter. I can see the balls in the rail ready to load but they don't. I've watched several of the videos found in the Vintage section but I didn't see much relating to this issue. Any suggestions or advice? Is there a video that I've missed somewhere.

Pics of the loading rail and shooting mechanism are attached. I'm hoping someone sees something obvious out of place.

    Thanks

After playing with it for a while I think I see the problem. It looks like there's a wire screwed into the shooter that is broken. From looking at pics from other posts it looks like the wire (labeled #1 in the attached pic) is supposed to move the lever that causes the balls to load (labeled #2 in the attached pic). Can anyone confirm this idea? If it's correct, where do I get a replacement piece for the broken wire?

Hello and welcome. Looks like the overflow wire is on the wrong side of the plastic loader. Also can' t see the wire that should be attached to the shooter arm that will pull the plastic loader arm up to load the next ball into the rail.

Have you watched the technical animation in the stickies in the vintage forum? Should explain a lot for you.

Thanks Tink. I had already downloaded as well as watched the animation a couple of days ago but apparently overlooked the very first section that covers my problem.

I found of picture of one on the internet that looks like what I need. Is there a recommendation on wire to use? Size? Gauge? I don't really know what haywire is.

As for the overflow wire, I hadn't made it that far yet. Any chance you could help point it out in the pics? I watched the animation and still don't see it.

Sorry for the newbie questions but this is the first chance I've had to play with my first machine. It's addictive just like everyone says it is.

    Thanks

Here is the overflow wire, on second look, definitely looks OK, was thinking Model B.

Here is what I use, utility wire other's would probably call it. Tough enough to do the job, yet soft enough to bend and make the parts easily. I think it's about 16 ga.

25' 16gauge wire from Home Depot $1.96. Problem solved! Finally able to test the machine. On to the next issue.

    Thanks for the help!
