Question Ball lifters what are you guys using

So I now have 5 machines mostly modern 94 - 2015 models. I build cabinets which make it easier to keep playing but these things gobble balls like my 3 year old gobbles candy. Although the cabinets make it easier then the 2 feet at the bottom I can see how a ball lifter is a nice addition.

I have seen a few for sale but over $400 thats more than I bought some of the machines for.

I played around with a proto type using a #40 large sprocket (Chain drive for a conveyor system) some 3/4 in boards a , high torque worm motor and some flexible PEX 1/2 tubing. It works decent the balls fit in between the sprocket after I rounted a nice groove. I still need to figure out how to get them to not crash back against the sprocket. It is a push feed design like the ones for sale for $400.

However I have too many dam projects in the works and the lifter is becoming a bigger one than I want it to be.

So I wanted to see what you guys were using.

    Manufactured or homemade?

After searching around here I have seen a lot of great ideas and home creations and some really sweet set ups!

Should I continue to just make my own?

or is there a supplier somewhere that sells one that won't cost me $400 x 5?

after that my wife would try to divorce me lol if she knew I dropped that for them.

they used to be in the $125.00 range years ago, but, there are not many around now.

now palours use large ball handling systems to feed all their pachinkos.

Limited supply dictates the high prices,

one should be able to keep up with 2 or 3 machines at once as long as they aren't in fever at the same time

hmm a central ball lifter to feed multiple I like that idea. I didn't think it would be able to keep up with more than one.

I use the orange lifters made by Silver. Add a DaveRob dongle and a battle counter and life is beautiful.

I wanted to be slighty different. So I'm going to be using a conveyor belt lifter with the machines hooked up to a modified daverob dongle and card system

I just build my cabs from old flat pack stuff, they give it for free at local tip.
Make a hopper on top fill it with balls.
I based my cabs on one that is on this site Ken 53 i think, just made a few changes.
The total price for all my cabs was Nowt.S8000042.jpg

"Flat pack" is the term (occasionally derisive) for the sort of furniture IKEA and others sell (because it's "packed flat" and has to be assembled by the buyer). "Tip" means "dumpster" and "outdoor trash bin" in British slang.

Well from a Brit, the 'tip' is more like the municipal dump, where you go to dispose of larger items of household waste that won't fit into the bin (trash can). We don't usually have the larger 'dumpsters' over here except for business use and 'blocks of flats' (apartments), but some inner city areas are starting to have them instead of an individual bin for each household.

Flat pack is usually the melamine plastic coated chipboard (particle board) beloved by IKEA and many cheap kitchen cabinet suppliers. We don't really care whether it was supplied 'flat' as a DIY assembly kit, or whether it was sold ready assembled, as it's kind of evolved into a description of the material it's made from rather than the design of the cabinet.
