I am trying out FromJapan as a newbie this week and have been very pleased so far. They work well with PayPal. Credit cards are also accepted but apparently debit cards don’t always play nice with their system. Terms and conditions are well laid out and the shipping calculator is a good tool.

I made a couple purchases and bid on a few items this week. They key thing is that you have funds available to them prior to making bids or purchases. My PayPal funds were available within minutes to use. Read up on this and shipping from sellers to them and then to you. (It works differently than say eBay stateside.)

They are good with communication too if you have questions or concerns. One item I purchased yesterday prompted them to email me before finalizing the order. The shipping charges were higher than they expected and wanted to be sure I was okay with it still, giving me an opportunity to cancel the order if I want.

Here is a great thread started in 2013 about using FromJapan which helped me in deciding to try them. Thanks to everybody’s input on the topic.

One side note: I’ve used BidService for smaller items before and Juno was great in helping me. I would only send him funds as he requested them and then he would bid on or buy the goods. I did ask Juno this week about his handling pachinko machines as I am eyeing one. He let me know that as part of his extra handling and care for the machines that he has an additional fee of $100USD. So I wanted to try out FromJapan this week!

Not trying to hijack the thread, just want to share

I happen to be on YJA shopping this week but no dice on the machine. Here is a starter to build one https://page.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/s532853608

This auction ends before 10am Sunday but my guess is that it will reappear later. I could get it to you you for $25 +/-? It'd be a cool gift of sorts till you found one.
I used カバ丸くん as my search.

Well maybe it won't reappear as there is a single bid on it so far. That price could go up to a million!

Not sure where he lives in Illinois, but if Chicago, it's 716.3 miles one way to pick it up, it's only 524.6 to me

Seller seems to be offering shipping by some kind of service like UPS or Fed-Ex pack and ship.
Seller comments: "Shipping can be arranged. Just message me"
