    Welcome to Pachitalk

    pictures please...

extra weight in the top hopper has no bearing on the jackpot paying.. lack of balls/weight yes, dirty pivot points yes..

Does anything work, are you able to shoot balls??

Yes, able to shoot, it pays out, just have to push the arm a bit to get it to engage. Just can't get the lights on the board to work or the middle guy to activate and move. Two lights work, the hopper empty light on the top left and the light on the right side that comes on when you are shooting.

Not sure what or if the man should do. the inline fuse hanging on the back is for the center feature. I have a machine in the same frame. That fuse protects the circuit for thje lights in the center...but no action on mine. What I'm not saying very clearly is...maybe the man is not supposed to move.

I've seen video of the same machine and the arms move, swinging in and out, causing two spots to open up to collect balls, the glasses raise and he basically turns into Sparkman. I know he's not real. Lol! So, I have no sound, no lights or movement. I changed the fuse so it's good. If I slowly unplug the fuse line, the lights kick on for a split second, then nothing.

Have you actually gotten a ball in the “1” or “2” start pockets yet? These era machines don’t do anything at all until you score a ball in those pockets... then the lights, sounds, and arms on the center feature should move. You can test quickly by opening the glass door and dropping a ball in one of those pockets. Good luck!👍

Yes, I have gotten them in the holes during regular play and with the glass open. Triggers the pay out, but no lights, signs or movement. I can move the individual pieces by hand so I at least know they aren't locked up or anything. Im not an electrician, so I may have to contact someone to test some of the connections I guess. Game is still fun without all that but I'd really love to experience the real deal.

sounds like a dirty contact point.. take it apart and wipe every thing down with a scotch bright pad / steel wool / ulta fine sandpaper and see if that helps...

What do I take apart? The fuse line and the plug that's right above the fuse too? Sorry, new to this.

I am at work and unable to send a pic, but there is a pic of what I am talking about up higher in this thread. Didn't want to use someone else's picture.

Does anyone have experience with their Sparkman doing this when the jackpot goes off:
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/a6xxr77g9v...%20PM.mov?dl=0

i would love to have it pay off as well but I would settle for it going back to normal after the “Fever”.

    any advice?

That's an error because no balls are going into the jackpot area (where sparkman is). The game assumes something is wrong with the shooter because who wouldn't play out a jackpot?

During every round of the jackpot, drop at least one ball in. You shouldn't get an error then.

Cool. Ok. I'll give that a shot. So while it's going through the Jackpot drop a least one ball has to land in the center section to avoid the error or balls just need to continue to be played even if they fall to the bottom?

So there's a way to go all the way through the sequence and have it finish making sounds and lights and then go back to non-jackpot without crashing the machine?

Generally one has to go into the 'V' spot each round, I assume it's between his legs (no comments please! ). In some games, if a ball doesn't go into the 'V' spot during a round, the jackpot ends (other balls still enter the jackpot area and pay out balls, just not into the 'V' spot).

Not sure how many rounds a jackpot is on this game, 10-15 is usual. It will go back to normal play after the jackpot is over.

Thanks so much. I'll try it in the morning. Any advice on making the machine quieter? It's pretty loud. Love to know where the speakers are and if there's anything I can install to make the sound quieter or toggle on and off. Really appreciate all the help so far.

I haven't had a game in that frame in hand in a while, but I think the speaker is under the shooter tray. If you open the glass, just inside the front on the lower right side there should be a metal piece you can push down to open the tray mechanism. There might be a switch there for volume. They don't do a whole lot though.

Can you show me where on the machine you would install them? A picture would be great if possible. Thanks!
