Default Broken feeder trays - anybody have clever fixes or replacements?

As I get in to buying old pachinko machines I'm finding the plastic feeder trays protruding a bit off the back just don't survive the years sometimes... See pic

anybody have any clever ideas for replacements? Any macgyver type guys with fixes out there?

I can see epoxying a broken tray if you have the broken pieces but what to do if you really just need to come up with a replacement?

in a pinch you could use a Tupperware type of container.. tilt it a bit and cut a hole.. probaly not a long term fix but should get ya by for a while..

I have made one from plexi-glass. It helped to have another for measurements. A good epoxy that works on acrylic is needed for strength.IMG_20150413_164935.jpg

Hey Tink that's very cool. I like that it's clear and you see all the balls in the tray too. What did you do for the holes for the ball feed at the low end of the ramp so that they go down the two channels nicely ? Also did you epoxy that metal mounting strip to the plexi?
Looks nice I might go this route.

Many small pieces, epoxied together so it resembles the original. Heat and bend the bottom piece so the balls flow nicely. The tin piece is on the back board, not part of the tray. A Sanyo thing. Took a couple tries to get all the pieces to fit.

I have a machine where somebody repaired using galvanized sheet metal to replace the tray. It is huge and holds a ton of balls. I will take a pic if you would like.

I've not used epoxy, but I have used Weld-on. It's a cement, not a glue. It works by chemically dissolving the acrylic so the two parts 'weld' together, much the same way pvc pipe is joined. The joints must be extremely tight, this stuff is thinner than water. It takes a bit of practice to get it right, but if done correctly, the joint is as strong as the acrylic itself.
