Default New guy from Missouri, USA

Hello all. Happy to have found the Forum. Just recently picked up a vintage machine at a local Antique mall for $40. Actually, this is the second one I have owned. The first one was purchased at a Navy Exchange in Japan in 1971 while on a West Pac. A few months after returning back to the States, I sold it to the blind brother of a shipmate for $10. Always considered getting another one and finally did the other day.

It is an OKUMURAYUKI MONAKO VICTORY

I'm having trouble with this website though. For some reason when I try to scroll down to add pics, the page blinks a lot very fast, then scrolls back up and will not let me get to the Manage Attachments section. It also skips letters as I type on almost every word. These things do not happen anyplace else. Any thoughts? I'll get pics and a discussion going when I get this technical issue resolved.

Here are some pics as promised.

I have no idea why they came out sideways. Sorry.

I believe the stamp # is 51, so a 75-76 machine. Everything seems to work except the lights, although an occasional jam. Will clean and oil as necessary. No indication of light voltage so more to figure out there. Missing outside glass, but has plexiglass inside. Also need a lot more balls as only have about 100. I imagine replacing that front tray will be the most difficult.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum!

Your ball jams might be related to the lack of pachinko balls. It's hard to say. There are a few "shut down" mechanisms that happen if the reward tray is low.

I might have a front tray for that model and will send you an instant message. Do you need one?

    Hello and Welcome.

No Oil please, just clean and dry. Voltage is 10VAC, but 9 volts DC will work well for the lights. Looks like the fuse is missing, 2 amp.

Thanks Tink. Good info. I'm going to clean and remove rust from as much as I can hoping that will help. It looks like some of the parts have been replaced, like various covers on the back as there seems to be several gauges and shades of blue plastic. Curious what this electrical part does.

It looks quite complete. a lot of the makes used different color plastics.

That switch of for low ball, when the top tray runs low of balls, the switch will close turning on a light in front.

Thanks for everyone's greetings and support. I have work to do on this one and will keep you all posted. My intention is not to make it look new, but to make it fully functional and complete.

    Thanks again for our help.

    Jim

That is a really good start! Most of my machines are treated with the same attitude. "Not to make it look like new, but to make it fully functional, and complete."!
Many do not tear it down as far as you have. I think you are doing it correctly. You will clean things that CAN NOT be cleaned ANY other way...and you gain intimate knowledge about HOW the machine works!
    You win in every way!!!
