Default Nishijin Model C / Glass on the inside?

My machine only had a piece of plexiglass over the play field. There are grooves for two pieces. I've read that glass is used along with the plexiglass. Does the glass go on the inside?

Also wondering if anyone has seen this machine before. I've been looking on the internet but haven't seen one yet. It's a Nishijin Model C with running horses on the play field.

I put glass on the inside track. I found replacement glass at Lowe's; 16x20 pane is $5.27 and they cut it to size for you. Home Depot in this area does not cut glass.

If I recall correctly; most people here only use one piece of glass or Plexiglas. They put it in the slot that is closer to the play field. Parlors use both slots of glass to make it harder for people to cheat using magnets.

I only use 1 piece of Plexiglas on my retro-modern 92 judo club and it seems to work great.

That's an awesome machine! I know nothing about it. Someone who knows more about vintage machines may chime in soon! Good luck!

You can use glass or plastic, it's a personal preference thing. Seems like most members here prefer glass on the inner track.

I have not seen that exact center feature and playfield combination. Looks fun.

I like the glass but I currently use plexiglass to keep things safer with pets and young grandkids. The glass can produce some additional noise but keeps it more original.
