Default In need of help in identifying a restoration project

Thanks for adding me to the forum.

My wife picked up the unit in the pictures. I am trying to resurrect this unit and would like to get more information on it.

    Any assistance is appreciated.

Thanks! Does anyone know of a service manual for the electronics? I have not seen another unit with the same electronics/plug in circuit board.

Looks like your wife has a good eye as she found a machine that isn't real common. Tink posted a link to a restoration that Mr.Al did on the same model. I am not sure how active he is in the forum right now, but I am sure he would reply if you send him a PM. He has always been very helpful. No service manuals to be found, but Mr.Al will be a great source of information. Welcome to Pachitalk.

It appears to be in good mechanical order. Once the power supply arrives I will be able to see if it is fully functional.

    Generic 24V 1A AC/DC

    • World Wide Input Voltage 100-240VAC 50/60Hz
    • OVP, OCP, SCP Protection (OVP: Over Voltage output Protection. OCP: Over Current output Protection. SCP: Short Circuit output Protection)

It seems to do the trick; however, upon closer inspection the machine needs to be gone through. There are a couple of places the balls get hung up mainly due to the track not being secured properly. The lower track cover is missing. The contacts need to be cleaned and some of the bulbs need to be replaced. It looks like someone attempted to "fix" it previously.

keep in mind the lights are set up for 10 volt... dont put 24 to the lights...

there are great transformers that are center tap for 24 and 12 volts.. the bulbs will usually take 12 volts

or you can change the bulbs to 24 volts..

Thanks. We used the 24v for the center electronics only and a 9v battery for the lights in the left hand corner. A wiring diagram would be really nice to have.

    sorry dont have a diagram...

in the future try one of these..

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Radio-Shack-...kAAOSwJcZWdsma

    it has 3 output wires...
two of the wires are common color.. they make 25 volts..
use the 3rd odd colored wire and one of the other common colored wires to make 12.5 volts for your lights.. they work great... i have used them on many power flash and circuit racer machines.. but i have not had the exact machine you have...

power flash and circuit racer machine hook up the same way.. your machine is a little different.. i can make an educated guess where and how to apply the power.. but some inspection and testing would be best...

Thanks again. I like that power source.

An Electrical Engineer friend and I are working to restore this guy. So hopefully I won't let the blue smoke out.
