Default How do you remove the brass pins without damaging them? And other ?s

What are the best ways to remove the pins? I have seen a modified corkscrew but I have been unable to find a write up on it. Also does anyone customize their vintage pachinkos? I have 1 machine I would like to do a custom background, spinners, and atraction. The other 3 I would like to bring back to a restored state.

That's the video I found as well. Did they use a dremel or something else to make the pin cutout?

A Dremel would be my guess.

I use a tack puller on a block of wood with an easyout for extra leverage.

I like the easyout because of the taper and it's flat. Gives variable height gains for the tack puller.
Only used it once for removal of a broken bolt, gets more use now as a pachi repair tool .

Member Rival is about 90 miles from you, he is a nice guy too. His book on Amazon has a lot of techniques for what you are doing...

I do enjoy customizing vintage machines, adding counters, making them cyclic, adding arduinos and LEDs. Have fun!

I use a Dasco Pro 227 7 1/2 inch Ultra Bar II with a block of wood and a shim to make the block of wood height adjustable. Nails came out very quickly with no damage to the head or bending the nails. I added some padding to the non working end of the bar so that it did not mar the backboard. Works like a charm. To polish the nails I found the quickest way was to soak the nails in ketchup for 20 - 30 minutes, then a light polish shines them right up. I polished all the nails in my pachinko in about an hour using this method.
