I work managing a retail store "Big Lots" and hate every excrusiating minute of it. It could just be my location and where I work. I was just kind of curious what some of the rest of us folk do for a living, I am even curious to see if any of us deliver our toys...UPS, FedX, DHL or R&L Carriers which if we do have any of you folk on board I appologize for bashing any of the services you provide, I just get mad when my toys are broke.

I was in printing for many years in Chicago and managed a convience store for 24 years in Florida.

I worked at a Sunoco gas station for 2 years, that is a job to remember, you get some mean SOB's in there. I feared my life sometimes.

I sell UFO's at Galaxy Motors and free lance at Spacely Sprockets. Most of my free time is spent making mixed xylenes and low sulfur gasoline in the Aromatics Recovery Unit for an oil refinery

I was in retail for 20 some years and retired young! Had 30 stores under me when I left. Being retired is super!

I would love to retire early, I have been dumping extra in my 401k plan I am still young and have a ways to retirement......DARN. I know retail will not be on the list for next year. I want out ASAP it makes you hate everyone and everything, people can be mean and nasty and the stores can rub the holidays so much in your face it makes you sick!!! And MUSAK dosnt help either..lol

I dunno, pachiroom. I was a sales clerk while going to college and moved up to assistant manager and then graduated from college and was a manager trainee and then a store manager and then managed several stores and then went corporate and finally managed 30 stores in my district when I finally left. I loved retail. Lots of work, lots of time spent and lots of rewards. I miss it some.... but not too much!

I transport art for a Museum. Been at it for 20yrs also had a motorcycle race prep and repair shop for 13 years but had to close the doors over the summer.
