I worked at a number of jobs when I was younger. Then seven years driving a route around Milwaukee Delivering pictures and picking up the film to be developed. It didn't pay well but I liked the job. It had some perks like I didn't have to work to hard. Then I figured out you don't get anywhere like that and started as a residual new construction painter. I had the good fortune to be hired buy a vary hard working man that loves his trade. I learned a good trade and what a good quality job was. He his a good boss and my family and I do right by him. I have been at this for ten years now.

Luckydog, if you are within 5 miles of a fire station you get what they call a class 9 rating. It's better than no fire protection.

More than 5 miles and it's no recognized fire protection.

I will be retiring from the PA Department of Corrections (as a counselor) 6/17/05!!! YAY!!! 17+ years in the System (12+ in Corrections) is enough. On vacation now & looking for work...
    Other stuff I've done:
Freelance writer & photographer (wrote how-to articles, then learned photography in order to be able to illustrate those articles)... have sold to Astronomy Magazine, some woodworking magazines, leather crafting magazines, etc.
    Freelance photojournalist
On-the-road photographer shooting graduations in action (very fast paced, totally unlike studio work). Did that for about 10 years.
Leather carving: belts, purses, Revolutionary War replica items.
    Substitute teacher
    Bellhop
    Desk clerk
    Retail sales
    Stock work
    Weird fringe jobs

After reading some of these, I'm not sure I want to say this, but I've worked for the Police department in Lincoln for 36, no 37 years. Currently am in charge of the Info technology department. (Used to be a cop, but retired my commission years ago when I had a chance to be in charge of the computer shop). I think I might have taken DMowery's fingerprints on his way into the joint).
