Red face Transformer issue? Or something else?

My 2007 Newgin "Treasure boat of lucky 7 god" has recently started acting up. I've had it a couple months and it's worked fine for hours and hours of play, but lately when getting a ball in the "1" or "2" open pockets (Hanemono type) and all the music is going and lights are flashing (higher than normal power usage) I noticed the LED numbers ball credit indicator for the Daverob dongle would dim slightly when all the lights are flashing and music blaring the most....sometimes enough that it would reset the credits back to 0 or go completely dark as if there was no dongle plugged in at all. Lately if i get a ball in the "V" pocket to start the fever sequence the machine just locks up, nothing happens a few seconds, then a big "?" comes up on the LED screen on the playfield....the arms are still flapping wildly but the shooter reduces it's strength to 10% so you can barely shoot balls at all. Once the first fever round is over everything goes back to normal like nothing ever happened.

The Daverob dongle is not the issue because I swapped it out with a "regular" dongle and it was still having issues with fevers. There's no reset or power button I can find on this machine to reset it either...I'm fresh out of ideas other than disconnecting the small transformer, and hook it up to my 30lb mega beast of a transformer that can power 5-6 pachinkos that Compirate gave me from a parlor. Does anybody know if there's a way to reset this model?

how hot is the transformer getting thru fevers?

newer machines need at least a good 5 amp transformer, some of mine have 8 amps.

Not very hot to the touch. I did manage to find a toggle switch for the reset, but no dice.

I guess I will try rigging up an extension cord to splice into the main power cords to the machine:

So I can bypass the little transformer to troubleshoot, then plug it into my huge 24v transformer I use for Cutie Honey. That should work right?

Best way is to measure the output voltage of the transformer when under load. If the transformer is weak or overloaded the voltage will drop.

You're probably right, but I don't have a multimeter unfortunately, need to invest in one!

I have great news however as it seems the transformer was the culprit after all! I tried just bypassing that little cheapo Chinese made transformer it came with and plugged it in to a the same proper Japanese made mega transformer/boat anchor (says 15 amps) and I'm no longer having any issues with dim LEDs on the CR area and fevers are back to working! I guess the poorly made Chinese one was decided it wasn't up to the task anymore. Maybe it's just me it seems a bit louder and brighter too! I'm just going to go buy a really long extension cord and this machine can share Cutie Honey's transformer so this was a pretty cheap "fix".

Here's the specs for the new and improved transformer for anyone interested:

Something appears to be out of place in one of your photo's.

Yeah, they seem to find their way all over the lower level of my house, nearly as bad as my son's legos which have the same issue except they are everywhere.
