what happened ?

I was getting a couple of parts to fix my A/C on my truck at the Freightliner dealer in North Las Vegas and spotted these two. I would guess that the one that's still fairly whole had an electrical problem but was caught before the entire truck went. The other one, well,,,

Nearly lost mine that way once when the battery cable to the starter shorted and caught a fuel line on fire. Cost (the insurance company) about 8,000 to replace the computer, wiring harneses and hoses that fried.
