    Default Hokoku Auction heating up

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-HOKO...IAAOSwqrtWoV7v

Getting well out of my price range. I'm bidding on this one for the rear top tray -- I can pattern a new one for my existing Hokoku. Not sure if this one is really worth $160-plus with the water damage, tho. Thoughts?

I saw it, and stayed out. I won one about 5 years ago for $103. With current "asking" prices, wouldn't be too out of line...if you did not already have one.

Looks cool, but seems pricey with all the water stains. Does this one have a jackpot drawer/pocket at the bottom near the horses in addition to tulips? Like a modern digipachi?

That gate on the bottom is a "Derby Gate"... that is fun!

Those Hokoku machines are not very fun to work on and take apart.

See, here I was trying to quietly ferret out which of us clowns was bidding against me, and cut a deal. Bidding just hit $170. I'm out.

Sold at $172.50. Looks like a sniper may have gotten it. The machine looks to be in amazing shape and you don't see very many of that brand, but still seems like a lot of money to me. I guess that's why they say a machine is worth what someone will pay for it. I would have been out at $75. Mopar and Max probably would have been out at $30.

I paid $116 for my last Hokoku, it was missing the upper ball tray in the rear, but had very little problems otherwise.
